I was just sitting here thinking about the Crimson Map Pack that will be coming out in a couple days (that should have been released with the game imo). And I remembered when map packs would contain 5 multiplayer maps instead of three. I don’t know about you, but I find that trend extremely disappointing. But at least we don’t have to pay for 2 multiplayer maps and one firefight map like 343 was doing with the Reach map packs. I know I won’t be paying for Spartan Ops once it is no longer free, and I wish that extra effort was put into the a greater variety of maps.
And just a comment, when people complained about Resident Evil 6 and all of its issues, they put out free dlc and fixed the problems. When people complained about how bad the Mass Effect ending was, they remade the ending. No suggestions about free stuff, just comments on responsiveness to the community.
Remember the good old days when map packs were ridiculously expensive and then they came out bundled with ODST after you had already bought them all?
And how they were required to play the vast majority of playlists?
Yeah, good times…

Off-topic, I don’t think anyone would pay for Spartan Ops, the overall content quality is so low except for the cutscenes, which can just be viewed online anyways.

i agree about the re6 thing its a good fun game marred by some big flaws and capcom is putting a patch two months in the making to adress them this month

yeah, that was great:P
When that happened, it hurt. It cut me deep. It’s behind me though, so I’m all good. Also; heroic map pack was three maps, legendary map pack was three maps, the mythic map pack was three maps, and then ODST threw in three more (along with all the ones we already had for free…)
The bit about the map packs being bundled with ODST… after I had just bought them a month prior… yes that really pissed me off.
The future of gaming is bleak. It seems like every major release now is a sequel to a blockbuster game… COD, Halo, Gears, Battlefield, Far Cry… original ideas go unnoticed in favor of tried and true formulas.
And EVERY single F-IN release comes with PREORDER LIMITED PLATINUM MAXXXXX ASLJDFLASDJFL PREMIUM EDITION WITH A PLASTIC FIGURINE.
Sad days indeed.
I’m happy I was around for the good ol’ days. They’re not coming back.

Yeah got to agree here, that was a -Yoink- move by bungie. Although I think the OP is referring to Halo 2 not 3.
