Remember Reach...........

Remember Reach. Powerful words. But we should follow these words.

We need to learn from Reach, the good an the bad. By doing this as a group effort we can see what we need to keep, and lose. Maybe 343i will take a look at this and maybe catch a few things they missed.

Pros:
Forge- This was a great step up from Halo 3, with the preciseness of the coordinate edits and more selectivity of pieces, it was fantastic. Of course some more colored pieces would not hurt.

Matchmaking- New playlists were introduced.

Armory- New types of armors and effects were added

Armor Abilities- While great and fun to use, we should learn from the mistakes made from them, needless to say… it’s Reach only

Custom Games- They opened more possibilities for us to have fun with out friends.

Cons:
Bloom- This is one of the most commonly mentioned hatred of Reach. While every Halo game had bloom it seems as though it was more apparent in Reach. Make is less noticeable.

Ranks- The ranking system was based on how much you played the game, not skill. People wish for the return of the 1-50, however I think we need a new type of system that still surrounds skill.( Discuss Below)

Campaign- The campaign was dry and short. We need a longer more exciting campaign.

Firefight- Even though we had new possibilities for customization, it was still dry… we need it more like ODST

Betraying- The system was destroyed.

Skulls- I like finding skulls, not having them given to me.

Credits- Distracted players from having fun and made them obsessed with matchmaking.

That’s all I can think of at the moment, I will add as I think. Discuss what you think below and suggest more ideas.
Remember Reach

Theres nothing to learn. LEARN FROM THE ONLY GOOD HALO GAMES. THE FIRST 3. THE ONES THAT TOOK SKILL AND WERE ACTUALLY FUN TO PLAY.

You obviously did not get the point of this thread.

> Theres nothing to learn. LEARN FROM THE ONLY GOOD HALO GAMES. THE FIRST 3. THE ONES THAT TOOK SKILL AND WERE ACTUALLY FUN TO PLAY.

^ Typical troll. Reach was just as good as the other Halo games.

I won’t comment on rank, but I have to disagree about Credits. I like the cR system, and I don’t think it distracted players as much as people say, but that’s me.

@xGOD 117x: Jesus! Can you not go 5 minutes without hating on Reach, or something? How about you actually develop a relevant argument and provide constructive criticism instead of spouting hate?

Really Zarth?

Depends who you play with I guess. :stuck_out_tongue:

No trolling please.

Not bumping… just adding in the mood of silence

Call it what you want… your actually bumping right now as well…

I think bungie was headed in the right direction with the ranking system in reach its just they didnt capitalize on what was important to people and what made ranked games so addictive.

They created arena for people who wanted to be extremely competitive. But it was a hassle to keep up with. Seasons and everything were kind of strange and I amnot too sure how many people like it. (I didnt)

343 needs to pick up where they left off, creating a hybrid system of Halo 3 and Reach. Where credits and ranks can be achieved by playing anything which can be used towards unlocking armor and such. While specific playlists have a ranking system with permanent levels of some sort that don’t go away after a month. They could reset them after a title update that changes gameplay mechanics. (Like bungie did in Halo 2 and 3)

Obviously some armor abilities are going to be left in the game, maybe some new ones will be added (Chief had a jet pack in the trailer) So that is a interesting choice considering chief probably could have used a Jetpack back in the day. (Assault on the control room anyone?)

And of course there will be new changes that have never been seen before in any halo games, most likely weapon add-ons (As seen at the end of the Halo 4 trailer, chief put something on his pistol) Which I am indifferent about as of right now.

Good topic btw, got me thinking.

what about credits for overall, a 1-50 skill overall, and then 1-50 for individual playlists?

and please give us ranked and social playlists and put team objective in ranked… and make sure people KNOW that that is where the competitors are, if u wana tick shot or kill -Yoink!- go to social

I think a con was that when the game released there were more forge world maps then actual maps. The forge world maps are great but I think that it showed that bungie made a really good forge so they can be lazy and not make real maps. And forge maps are dull as hell so ya add colors

So I’m not the only one noticing it? Criticism on Reach is far too common and acceptable to ban, but its nice to see it followed by some real arguments.

How tiring it is to see this drivel over and over again. What the Chief had in that trailer a Zero-Gee (Zero Gravity) thruster pack (seen in the Fall of Reach) which has been part of His Mark Vl armor since Halo 2. Its too weak to use in a gravity zone, and it only helps him gain momentum in the vacuum of space, to help him move. Since he has rarely been in a low gravity zone, I assume its obvious why this is the first time we have seen such a device in operation.

I all i see are opinions come on, there are people who like halo reach, most of them aren’t part of the forums anymore cause there sick of the complaining

I used to think a global skill-based rank was a good idea, but various debates have changed my mind. If we were to return to a experience and skill mixed system (like Halo 3), I would hope they are not interlinked like Halo 3. You would have a Global, experience based rank, and then a rating or class determined by skill. The experience based rank would appear in social list, the rating in ranked.

I do not want to see a return to 1-50, however.
