Remember in halo reach where we had the system of actually having to save up and pay for the armor, visor, knee guards, etc; Halo 5 had a cool idea with what it did but I’d say do in Halo 6 what they did in halo reach where we had to pay for our stuff.
The REQ system is a good idea.
What was a bad idea was that they put 99% of everything unlockable into it.
Armors should be rank and achievement based, not RNG based, it sucks wanting an armor and not being able to get said armor because the RNG gods hates you. After all, armor is a cosmetic thing, it shouldn’t be RNG based.
And while I love Reach, I disliked the “Buy armor parts” feature, as it just encouraged people to afk throughout entire matches while they were at work or in school to get points that way. And that sucked bigtime.
But, that is my opinion on the whole thing.
I agree, it made sense to spend time trying to unlock/save up for what we actually wanted instead of it being completely random. Completionists probably wouldn’t like it as much though.
REQs aren’t perfect but they’re a great idea from a developer side. Theyre here to stay. I’m not really bummed about it. I get a kick outta hoping to finally roll spartan locke and loaded.

I feel like Reqs are fine for things like skins assassinations and the detail stuff but i can’t stand having to hope i get an armor through random selection and it really doesn’t make the game feel like an FPS or let alone halo.
I personally like the random aspect of the pack system, but think they should categorize the req’s you can get more tightly. Like making cosmetic stuff and usable stuff separate from each other for example.
I will always be against random unlocks, it’s not rewarding, it’s all just chance.
It’s probably making too much money for them to ever consider removing it though.

It encouraged people? How? Just how? With credit bans multiplayer bans and ranks reset how would do this? I constantly get bans just for lagging off, I have a friend how plays late and sometimes falls asleep during a firefight and wakes up with a two month ban from credits; your trying to tell me there are people encouraged ? Who would do that knowing how harsh the system is! I think REQs is one of the most horrible ideas for a game and we need to go back to Reach’s unlock system.

It’s utter bullshoink when I get bans for being forced out of a match by the servers or some other inconsequential crap.
I don’t leave matches I’m losing, so it’s just the game hatin’ on me.
Also, I agree that a Reach-esque progression and unlock system would be so much better.

The explosion is fun! It makes me happy! Then I play Halo Reach and due to me lagging off don’t get to play for another month with a ban and I get back to being sad. Oh and you can also like your own comment! A explosion is never too far away! Oh and yes I think my account had the explosive power of 10 atomic bombs! I think I blew up my house! And China, the moon and all of space. I hope you have the money to repair the moon and China; we don’t need space.
It would probably be better if more armor was less RNG based. For example, you could earn a specific armor set for achievements or reaching certain ranks. I do like the idea of the REQ system, but if 20% - 30% of armors (of all varieties from common to mythic) were achieved via commendations, achievements, or ranks that would probably alleviate the unlucky players.
I would much rather have it unlocked via in game achievement. Get this for beating that level , get that for this skull …etc…
