Remember melees in Halo CE and 2?

Remember how weak melees were back then? Now we’ve got spartan charge and energy bayonets. I remember loving how it only took 2 melees to kill in Halo 3 and hating how you absolutely had to break shields in Halo Reach before you could get a melee kill.

Spartan charge is still 2 hits just like melee. I hate spartan charge and bayonets, I have friends who have melee as their tool of destruction. I prefer the 2 hit melee.

Spartan Charge really needs to go. I’d also lower the bayonet’s range just slightly, but it is a Warzone REQ rather than a universal mechanic. I do prefer a consistent two hit kill melee though. I just enjoy the reliability of a simple 2 hit. The shifting melee damage in Halo 2’s multiplayer is probably the only thing I actually dislike about it.

I remember the fuss on the Bnet forums when Halo 2 launched and everyone was pissed about the hit detection and the melee damage, and the general brokenness of the game…those were the days XD

I know, I just don’t really like its knockback effect and its existence in general.

bayonets are a disgrace to halo. I’d rather keep spartan charge if I had to choose between the 2

Nothings perfect. Like Death Wolf XT was explaining, meleeing has always been discussed and stressed about in the community, and it most likely will continue.

It’s fortunate that the the bayonets are only in WZ.

As far as Spartan charge goes, oh well, nothing we can really do about it.

I’m surprised the entire meta hasn’t devolved into bayonet and camo spam at this point. I think the only thing preventing it is upgraded shields, the most bs perk ever.

Welp, if anything, Spartan Charge sadly is here to stay. Its just one of the things where since its such a huge mechanic change, it wouldnt make sense to get rid of it, especially how its used in Campaign.
