That’s because unlike you all on this post there are some of us that actually want a Halo 3 Anniversary for God’s sake and there’s a lot of people out there that want it more than could image
I’m going to put it the way my friend did 343 industries is excellent at doing remasters but when it comes to making an entire game well they’re not that great
Huh, I’d never noticed that moment, but appreciate your attention to detail, those little things do matter when a character is really only “on-screen” in cutscenes for a few minutes over 2 games.
I wasn’t as taken out of it by the difference between the cutscenes and gameplay, but I suspect that with the Halo 2 engine they couldn’t do anything particularly impressive with the cutscenes. I really loved seeing it all look so good. I would hope that maybe now if they remade Halo 3, they could do in-engine cutscenes and have them look pretty damn good. If there’s one positive thing I can say about Infinite, it’s that the lighting and textures looked damn good in both gameplay and cutscenes.
I’m not sure if this is entirely related to the core topic of this forum, but I would love to see more graphical settings across the board. Some examples include but aren’t limited to:
-Graphical settings for Halo CE/2 Classic (Anniversary Graphics have them, Classic should have them too.)
-More options for FPS adjustment (I.E. 60, 90, 120, 150, 180, etc.)
-More types of Anti-Aliasing (I.E. FXAA, SSAA, TXAA, MSAA, etc.)
-Support for HDR, Ray Tracing G-Sync/Free Sync, and DLSS
-Support to turn Motion Blur on and off
These are just a few examples I can think of as far as graphics settings is concerned. Personally, I think they have enough on their plate already to worry about the idea of a remaster of Halo 3. But I think it would be great if they could add all of these settings in MCC. Having in-built support for these features and other stuff like reshade could allow players to alter the way the Halo titles look like to their personal preference.
Well for one, thank you. I appreciate it.
For two, I’m a writer and an artist. Those types of character centric details are… Well, kind of my personal bread and butter.
It’s not that I was taken out of it personally. It’s that anyone was or could be. It does create a dissonance, flat out. If you see circulating memes about it, it happened, you know? And idk, Bungie did it so I suspect it was able to be done.
I mean really, they could certainly have just allowed the model swaps. Yeah, they’d have to make a lot of backdrops and such for the cutscenes but… Those do already exist. So, who knows.
I mean on the mission where The Arbiter gets dropped off at the flood wall, the phantom is flying backwards ffs.
Same and wholly agreed. Infinite’s cutscenes are MASTERFULLY directed and shot. I’m never going to forget like, literally,
Watching Master Chief disassociate after holding another Spartan as he died. Chief was out of it.
Gods, his code for shutting The Weapon down being RED FLAG-034-SAMUEL…
That hit me so hard.
Yeah, clearly he never let that one go.
While I was overall disappointed with the campaign (mostly just the redundancy of the open world, and the lack of major action in the plot,) I was very happy with the overall tone, the cinematics, and the music. That moment you mentioned with him disassociating also got me pretty good, went a long way to show that chief is getting… tired.
How did you feel about the ending/ The Weapon’s name? When she asked “do you think it would be ok?” I assumed she was asking Chief if she could use the name Cortana, and for some reason that really really got me good. Like don’t get me wrong, I’ve played Halo 3 and Reach again and again and really love the vibes, but I don’t remember ever crying. When The Weapon asked if she could take Cortana’s name? I definitely teared up a bit.
I don’t know, honestly.
I’ll have to see how it plays out.
But I was very happy with the whole campaign.
If they did a remaster of Halo 3 what art style would you want them to use Halo 4, Halo 5, Halo Reach, or Halo Infinite
None, I’d want them to stay true to 3.
I think Infinite is actually pretty close to the Halo 3 Art style (minus the different factions.) Moments like after Chief first meets the harbinger and the tower activates really look like the lighting and aesthetic of Halo 3. I feel like seeing Infinite made me feel like they would be up to remastering 3.
Honestly, for Halo 3, which is running on a very capable engine, should just have some toggle-able updated models, textures, and shaders. No need to have the Saber engine running on top like Halo 1 and 2 Anniversary.
The things I think look dated the most are the weapons O like the updated weapon models from Halo CE Anniversary and Halo 2 Anniversary ot is about time Halo 3 get an anniversary and be for anyone ask no Iam not going to shut up about it
I think that some of the halo 3 cutscene models need work like miranda. I don’t really feel like halo 3 needs a graphics upgrade. All that I would really want to see is the improvements that was made to the ODST version of the halo 3 engine, backported on to halo 3.
ODST has always felt more refined than 3 to me.
