Even though Halo: Reach was basically a very risky experiment in the Halo universe, it did have a number of great additions including some cool legacy items. Most notably, in my opinion, were some of its stellar maps. I don’t know about you guys but I would love to see a couple of these come back in Halo 5. Not only could they get a makeover but with the classic Halo multiplayer coming back, the flow of these maps could be even better. I’ve listed three of my favorite Reach maps that I would like to see remade. What do you think?
Tempest - This was a fun and unique map channeling Blood Gulch and Valhalla. Imo Halo needs more of these. Plus the geography was beautiful.
Highlands - Speaking of medium sized vehicular/close-combat maps, heres another I really enjoyed.
Anchor 9 - This was an expertly crafted map, symmetrical on both sides with a really cool zero-G gameplay mechanic connecting the two. It’s a smaller arena map, classic Halo. I don’t know if you guys every played Star Wars: Republic Commando, but there was a map in that game called Hanger I think which had a very similar concept. I guess that kind of throwback was a big win for me.
How would you guys like to see any of these come back?

> As as for the maps you listed, thanks to horrible DLC integration, I almost never got to play any of them in MM so I cannot judge them accurately.
Yeah man I know exactly what you mean. It sucked, because I bought all the map packs as a diehard halo fan but since really no one else did I never got to play them. I was forced to just custom game them. Honestly same thing for Halo 4… thats why I’m excited to the MCC, everyone will have all the maps, so we will finally be able to play them consistently
I’d love to see any future DLC maps be free for this exact reason. Some of the coolest Halo maps (especially Highlands and Tempest in Reach) have been DLC and they never get played. I’ve bought every single one of them but it feels like the community, in general, doesn’t. Make 'em free, 343! Let people enjoy your hard work!
I agree. This was the biggest problem with both Halo: Reach and Halo 4. As a die-hard fan, I bought all the map packs, because multiplayer is awesome and the maps are beautiful. Only, I never ended up playing any of them in either game, only strolling around in custom games admiring the scenery.
