REMAKE OF HALO 2???

Who thinks 343 should also do a remake of halo 2??? That would be very interesting…

Apart from the fact that 343 have said that they are not making it unless they change their mind, this topic has already been discussed to death.

No, if they do that, then Halo 3 will have to be remade, then ODST, then Reach, then Halo CE again.

If one game deserves a remake it is CE, and that’s the way it is, and that’s the way it should stay.

No they don’t. Halo: CE and Halo 2 are original Xbox titles which means they are ripe to be given an update. Halo 3 is already an Xbox 360 title and doesn’t really require any updates. Same goes with ODST and Reach.

Halo 2 is simply not as well-loved, and given that no multiplayer changes would go on, I’m not sure what it’s worth doing. We can play Halo 2 on Xbox 360.

The only thing I could see them updating are the graphics for Halo 2, clean up maybe the dialogue, add achievements, and maybe some terminals like with CEA, but that’s it. Honestly, if they changed the multiplayer, too many people would be ticked off about it. Not only that but I don’t see why they would need to change 2’s multiplayer. =/ It had servers of its own before they shut them down. Halo: CEA I can understand them doing Reach multiplayer for because it was never online capable and it would have taken them months to create a new multiplayer basis for the game.

I mean, I’d love to see Halo 2 done, but if they changed the multiplayer from what it was, I can easily say I’d be upset. :frowning:

I would rather see a “Halo: Reach ODST”

Halo 2 campaign is pretty much unplayable on 360.

Would love to see H2 campaign redone on 360 after Halo 4. Get the whole story arc on one platform.

343 said that Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is a one time deal, there’s not going to be Halo 2: Anniversary, which is sad, cause imagine Halo 2 on 360 or the next Xbox? I wish the same man, but unfortunately, “That’s not gonna happen”

They never said that. Frank O’Conner said that Halo Anniversary was done because fans wanted it and if fans truly want a Halo 2 Anniversary they would consider it. Right now their full attention is on Halo 4 and when that is done it’s possible they could do a Halo 2 Anniversary, again if fans say they want one.

Speak for yourself. H2 campaign took a back seat at the time due to a cliffhanger ending, and the fact that the online multiplayer was equivalent to crack. Outside the airlock on the MAC platform is one of my favorite levels in the series.

Also, giving the covenant back their bomb.

Indeed. I don’t know why some people still cry about the cliffhanger ending. After all these years you can just beat the game and then pop in Halo 3 to finish the fight. It’s not a big deal anymore. I rather enjoyed Halo 2’s campaign because that’s where the lore evolved.

Take a look back at Halo 1 and there was no real history. We simply learn the Covenant is a religion and they think the Ring is holy without much info than that. Then we get to Halo 2 and we learn about the Great Journey and meet their leadership. Halo 2 is where Halo truly began.

Know what i would settle for?

If 343i made a special effort to bring about a fix for the volumetric fog bug with the emulation of halo 2 on the 360, the one that leaves a big ghost image over the screen on some levels, so that we may still play this great game as it was intended to be. I intend do play the whole series through in order soon and i know this bug will annoy me.

That would show a commitment to the community beyond measure.

That’s right, it’s a big one with me. I only use the original xbox because the 360 was crap. I went through 3 of them and all had that shadow. Even so, I’d still pay for a disk if that was fixed.

A remake/graphical overhaul would be great. As usual, the opposition AGAIN do not have a legitimate reason.

As of right now, Halo 2 is the only Halo game that isn’t playable co-op through Live on the 360 in HD.

Do you all really think 343 is going to keep things that way and leave Bungie’s trilogy broken?

The best way to send Bungie-era Halo out with style is to complete the trilogy. I personally don’t really care if it’s remastered or not, has original multiplayer or Halo 4’s, etc. All I want is to be able to play through all 3 games with my friends w/o having to sit on a couch together w/ splitscreen.

If a Halo 2 remake is never made then it will always be known as the game that got away, and a missed opportunity.

or, they can all work on the new trilogy to make iit the best they possibly can

> or, they can all work on the new trilogy to make iit the best they possibly can

Or Microsoft can hire anyone and any amount of people needed, it’s not like the poor fellows at 343 have a limited budget. The people working on an H2 remake later would not necessarily be the same people working on the trilogy.

I could see them remaking all the games(2&3) in the future or for the next Xbox if they use the same template as they did far HaloCEA then it would be cheap and would make them money. So why wouldn’t they? I mean a chump like me would love to own the same game twice

They should “remake” Halo 2 by making Halo 4 play like Halo 2.

I think Halo 2 is the majority of people’s favorite multiplayer. I think it plays the best 4v4 out of all the games. It’s what a Halo game should play like.
