Reloading - Extra Bullet In chamber

Battlefield 3 Did a lot of things that We haven’t seen games do, which I love. But the last thing I want is for Halo 4 to resemble ANY OTHER GAME besides Halo 1-3.

One thing That would be cool though, Would be that If you reload your DMR (15 round clip), It shows up as 16 on the Gun, because theres still a Bullet in the chamber! That is… unless you reload a completely empty gun, then its 15.

I really don’t care either way… I just noticed that no game does this >.> except bf3. I mean halo reach added the Extra animation for when your gun is completely empty (pull the hammer back and load a bullet into the chamber).

Halo 4 will probably not have the dmr, just so you know. Reloading the dmr is basically just mashing a magazine into the gun.

Whooosh. This OP went over your head.

The thing is, there’s a science behind how many bullets a weapon has in the Halo games as it corresponds to how you use said weapon in battle. While it is only one extra bullet, it still kind of defies that.

Looks like someone’s alittle behind in the news…

Err… DMR is confirmed for Halo 4. There has already been screenshots of it in-game too.

DMR is confirmed: http://gammagamers.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/dmr.jpg

Also, reloading any weapon is not simply “mashing a magazine into the gun.” The bolt of the weapon would still be locked to the rear if you ran dry of ammunition. I would assume a standard bolt catch lever would be in place to quickly let the bolt return to the forward position so you could fire again.

However, if you are just loading (as opposed to reloading) a standard rifle, you’d have to pull the charging lever back and release it to actually load the weapon. Afterwards though, most weapons now a days use the expulsion of gas from the firing of a round to reset the bolt so you can continue to send bullets downrange. Unless you have an old musket or crazy crap, lol. >_<

(Sorry if any of the above is slightly inaccurate, but the basic jest should be there.)

If you think BF3 was the first game to do this then you’re about a decade behind the gaming times…

Would be cool to have that but I don’t think they will end up doing it. I don’t know how long it would take to put that into the game either.
