Reloadable Plasma Weapons

Ok so I’ve wanted this for a while and I want to know what you think. What if you could collect batteries or so for covenant weapons that way you wouldn’t have to search for a new let say plasma rifle. Much like stepping over a DMR for ammo, stepping over another plasma rifle will give you an extra battery for your plasma rifle that you can reload with. This could be done with the plasma pistol, plasma repeater, plasma rifle, and even the spartan laser. I think this would encourage the usage of plasma weapons. What do you think?

Well, the battery weapons work that way to make them different from human weapons, adding more diversity. It should stay that way.

In plus, there won’t be any Covenant weapons in Halo 4 anyway.

Iv’e never thought about it but that’s a good idea, the gun would still over heat and such and maybe if it over heated it would burn off more ammo but you would just be able to pick up more. and when you think about it its more practical because who makes a weapon that once its out of ammo its done

But there could be plasma weapons because the covenant got alot of there tech from the forruners

in the games, humans don’t fully understand how covenant plasma weapons work, and don’t know how to reload them

Yes but we won’t see them as we’re used to. The Covenant reverse engineered Forerunner tech to create (kinda using this wrong as they sort of stole Forerunner tech) their weapons and ships we see in the games. We’ll see plasma weaponry in Halo 4, just not like it’s been portrayed in the original trilogy.

Yes, there most likely will be plasma weapons. Plasma Rifles, Plasma Pistols, etc. are rechargeable in the lore, but for gameplay they keep them unrechargeable for the sake of diversity.

Yea, that’s what I’m talking about. Waste of covy tax payer money!

What about the needler, needle rifle, and carbine?

those are not plasma weapons, they have an obvious way to reload them

I’ve thought of this in the past. It might be okay if we could only carry one spare battery at a time, and it would be reloaded automatically when the current battery is depleted. It wouldn’t hurt much; it’s about the same as picking up a new plasma weapon.

How come the arbiter cant reload them?

maybe he can, and he just wont, when he has them he has infinite ammo, when he’s not human controlled that is, but really, it’s because that would be strange, and change gameplay when hes with you and when he’s not

I want one of THESE!

Actually the “cannon” reason we couldn’t reload most was “we don’t understand how to reload them”. We might be able to do so in H4

No, I think they should leave them like they always have been. It makes the Plasma weapons a bit more different from the UNSC ones.

Yeah, but at least the needler would seem to be confusing.
