There are several achievements in Halo 5: Guardians where the player is punished because of poorly-programmed AI allies. Enemy of my Enemy and Worms Don’t Surf essentially force the player to constantly kill their entire fireteam to prevent interference, and Emergency Boarding Procedures relies 100% on how quickly at least one member of your fireteam can get to you (or that, if they’ll actually listen to your orders and pilot a Phaeton before you board the Kraken, whether or not they’ll fly in a way for you to hop on.) These kind of achievements punish the players for how the developer programmed the game, and Halo Infinite can’t repeat this same mistake. Halo’s AI will never be competent enough for the developers to force the players to rely on them, and it’s absolutely infuriating when they fail to understand that.
If the AI respawn when you kill them, don’t create achievements that they actively prevent you from unlocking.
My favourite thing in Halo 5 is being forced to constantly watch my team attempt to revive me only to die one at a time. What a feature!
Yeah, I don’t think it should be considered an “achievement” of the player to be witness to an in-game coincidence that may or may not (probably won’t) occur over the course of any given playthrough. That’s pretty ridiculous.
I’m sure it, like just about everything 343i does, was well-intentioned. But I hope they can swallow their pride on this, and a lot of their other decisions, and remove their ideas that haven’t worked from the development of Infinite.

I wouldn’t consider this one to be completely AI-based, since it can be unlocked in co-op with another player piloting said Phaeton (much easier way to achieve it).

That also costs around $80.00 (CAD) to do for each player.

Halo 5’s been out for 4 years… a new copy can be bought for as low as 25 CAD. Game Pass is fairly cheap too, I think.

I’m referring to Xbox Live Gold.

Ah, gotcha. My mistake!

Maybe do it with someone who already has Xbox Live Gold so they won’t be paying for it just to do that. I’m sure there’s someone here on the forums who would be willing to join up with you.

I’m not spending $80.00 to get one achievement.

Wait, so you don’t have Xbox live, and you bought Halo 5?

I don’t have Xbox Live Gold, and I bought a game with a singleplayer campaign. I’m not sure what the issue is.

No issue. I’m just not sure I’d want to spend US$60 on a game where you can’t hardly do anything offline if I don’t want to pay for gold.

I paid $30.00.

Sorry I had assumed you had bought the game when it was relatively new. Anyway I don’t know what the conversion rate is between the CA$ and US$. I’m pretty sure that CA$ is slightly more inflated though, but I might be wrong.
