Relevant to H5G? Probably not. Cool, kinda.

So this is probably not relevant to Halo 5 Guardians, but I thought it was pretty interesting. For those of you who don’t know (I just learned of this recently) but the map “Guardian” from Halo 3 was featured in the campaign but cut. I’d go on about it, but I recommend you check out this article that talks about it.

After reading this, I started to see if I could find concept art online of the Guardian and here is what I found: http://i.imgur.com/L1bsOap.jpg?1

What do you guys think? I know it is probably not entirely relevant to the upcoming title, but it is pretty interesting.

Oh yeah, I remember reading up on this years ago! It sounded like a really cool level, and it’s a shame that it didn’t make the cut…

It would be nice if they took some cut content from previous games, such as the Guardian, and used them in future Halo games. Perhaps these Guardians are what gave Halo 5 its subtitle? Maybe that big bird thing we saw in last year’s teaser was a Guardian?

We’ll all find out in good time, i think.

Somehow I never read this anywhere and I loved Halo 3. Mind you, I had zero activity among the Halo community back then but whatever. Maybe these are the Guardians from that level and maybe not. If anything, it could be 343i’s own take of the Guardians.

Hmmm, really interesting. I wonder how this would’ve played out in the campaign…maybe it would’ve hinted towards Halo 4 and beyond. Great find!

Possibly, but I think Bungie knew they were done with Halo 3… or at least I think they wanted that to be their last Halo game. Thank you!

Well I heard they actually began work on it but then stopped because they didn’t want to start something without finishing it.

Do you have proof of that or a link? I would love to read that.

It’s quite possible! I mean, out of all of Halo lore, where else have we really heard of Guardians? We know that 343i has dived into unused Bungie material before, taking this concept and turning it into the Prefect Armour. Who’s to say that they haven’t done so again?

The big Forerunner bird thing in the teaser trailer looked somewhat similar to the Guardians when it was closed up, so it’s entirely possible. Maybe these Guardians are protecting something valuable, say, Mendicant Bias?

I haven’t seen a side by side comparison of that bungee art to the prefect armor… That’s also very interesting. It’s nice to know that some of the seeds bungee planted, 343i is letting them grow instead of just ignoring them.
