I doubt this will really get anywhere but I’m putting out a request for 343 and Microsoft to release the source code of Halo CE (either the original Xbox version so fans can make a better port than Gearbox did, or the custom edition) for Halo CE’s 20 year anniversary. As said I doubt this would get anywhere but part of my desire is to make a native linux port of Halo CE so i can try and run it on a raspberry pi. (I know next to nothing about coding but I would learn just to be able to do that because Halo is important to me)
They might not have the source code. It could be lost to history.
A group of people already offered to help restore and fix CE for free when MCC was announced yet here we are. Couple that with all the reports sent about CE’s gearbugs, and how instead of fixing it first, time and resources were spent making skins. If this isn’t proof there is no hope for CE on MCC, 0 incentive of repairing it, I don’t know what it could be. Don’t waste your time with it. I’m thinking of getting a physical copy of the true version from 2001.
