I have been playing Halo for over 8 years now and ever since halo 2 I was able to get the English announcer for multiplayer if I just put my Xbox on English, despite me buying the German (replace this with any other non-English speaking country) version of the game. The campaign was still in German though, the only exception being halo reach which I could enjoy 100% in English.
Now with Halo 4 I figured since it came on two dvds I would get the same benefits I got with Reach. But that is not the case! Not only is the campaign audio in German only, but the multiplayer is as well. So imagine me being used to “double kill”, “killing spree” etc. for over 8 years and now I have to listen to the really terrible German guy.
Previous Microsoft games like Fable 3 and Gears of War offered the English audio via dlc, so I would like 343 to do the same for Halo 4, you can not imagine how terribly annoying it is, as German audio is really bad for 99% of all games released.
tl;dr Release the original English Audio (at least multiplayer) via DLC, because every other Halo thus far at least allowed us foreigners to enjoy Multiplayer in English.
you just want to hear “slayer, oddball, king of the hill” and such in english? is it even SUCH a big deal? I’d rather have them release the audio for the campaign. but anyway, I am french and the dubbing sucks (at least in halo 3. since that fiasco-of-a-game, I never bought a halo in french again).
it sucks more than anything you can think. more than the german one you have (want a proof? the dubbers didn’t even care enough about the game and simply forgot some dialog lines spoken by cortana and the gravemind!)
I don’t think MS ever released a language pack for GOW. can you prove it?
and next time you buy a halo game, do like me, buy it on amazon.co.uk to be safe and have it in english (and maybe cheaper too)

I personally won’t bother looking it up, but they did do that, and the prior Halo titles did have English as an option.
However, to the OP, you are taking this up with the wrong people. 343 is the developer - it is the publisher, Microsoft Studios, that you want to take this issue up with as they are the ones who deal with localization and language packs, etc. 343 has nothing to do with that.
I said at least MP, ofc campaign would be better.
I only use my Xbox for Halo so I don’t know for a fact, but I heard some friends who I trust that they also did it for GoW (maybe they didn’t do so in france).
Yeah again I just figured since campaign and MP are on separate DVDs and Reach got the English audio as well that it would be a no-brainer that h4 would have it, I buy other games from amazon.co.uk, but I really wanted to make sure that I get h4 on release date as I was super excited about the game.
But yeah MP is also a really big deal to me, it’s just what I am used to and again, the german guy is really terrible (not doubting that the french dude is any better) and it annoys me every game I play.

Since 343 is part of microsoft and not a seperate developer I think it doesn’t really matter. Also it’s obvious that they aren’t planning to release any different language packs, so I think they would have to do some code editing to make it work in the first place.
But I will also post this on the xbox.com forums, the more people read it the more likely it is that they’ll actually make this happen, I really don’t wanna be forced to buy another copy of halo 4…
I want an english DLC because german announcer voice is realy annoying over time and sicnce I played with english voice since Halo 2 I hope that an english DLC will be released soon.

I’m starting to get really sick of the german vo, so I’m actually considering picking up another copy. The first week or so I thought it was pretty funny, but by know I’m just like : for the love of god just say double kill.
