When do you Spartansthink we can expect HALO INFINITE to be released ?
I’m going to throw my guess towards 2019, but it could even be later than that for all we know. Considering we haven’t seen any actual gameplay, and only a tech demo of the new engine, it’s tough for any of us to make any assumptions on how well the gameplay itself is coming along.
I’m a patient man, I just want the game when it’s good and ready to be released.
Optimistically, 2019. In reality, probably 2020.
2020 considering at this point in time we only got an engine demo. Also I bet it’ll launch with the Scarlet release which is rumored to be 2020.
Hopefully when it’s ready. And not before.
I believe Frankie confirmed it will be current gen, not on Scarlet. I assume the release will be fall 2019, but maybe 343 will pull a George RR Martin and say it’s done when it’s done.
One would hope, from the experience with Crackdown 3, that the powers that be would learn it’s a bad idea to tease something that only has a tentative release date. I mean… I can’t be the only one who almost eye rolled when that announcement happened… can I? The hype train on that derailed a long time ago. Or is it just me getting tired of hype trains leaving the station a few years too early?
As of this moment, the fully developed game is expected by 2020
Unrealistic: Next Christmas
Semi-realistic: fall 2019
Realistic: late 2019 to early 2020
Worst case scenario: late 2020 to early 2021
Worser-worst case scenario: it’s cancelled.
I think it all depends on the engine and how well it’s cooperating with them. Typically games spend 4-5 years in development when using a new engine as 1. Devs need to learn it 2. Make up the tools for it to implement in their games and 3. Test around with it on certain features and see what happens.
I dont know much on the slipspace engine so I can’t give my own guess as I don’t know it’s limitations or strong points. I’d assume 2019 at the earliest however.
Hopefully 2019. It’s been in development long enough as it is so I think 2020 would be to long without releasing a mainline halo title. Though if I had to wait till 2020 to ensure the game is the best it could be then I would

Yes, you’re correct. Frankie did confirm this on his reddit to clear up all the speculation on a next gen release.
I hope fall 2019, but I’ll patiently support releasing it when it’s ready to entertain us happily for years!
They are giving us many other titles to enjoy until then. Wars 2 is not that old, we still have H5 (Championship series, custom games, forge), and the arcade style game coming this summer…which is a really cool break from the traditional. I’m ready to nerd it out arcade style…where do I get tokens! Man, I hope they use tokens like the old days!
