All of you guys and gals, you need to relax. i am 90% sure you can go do something else while they are trying there hardest to fix this. stop being ungrateful and realize it is still the holiday period so more people are buying this game, which means ALOT more stress on servers.i agree some of 343’s ideas can be a little iffy with things like forge, split screen, custom games and what not but just stop being complete -Yoinks!- about this and let them work without the criticism, how would you like it if you were busy fixing something that’s import to alot of people but those same people were constantly swearing and being generally mean, let them do their job and check back in like an hour or 2. go play something else or watch a film. (if there is no news about it by then, say what you want)
What ever happened to Microsoft’s super powerful Azure Servers?
dose not matter how powerful the servers are, they still have issues.
I am still super pissed that they abandoned the MCC, it is like your first child is bad in sports and instead of helping him/her you just leave it alone in the dark and hope that your 2nd child does it better.

no, i was in your shoes about 30 minutes ago, but i have to say i disagree, they should have given us a complete game. considering i got the legendary edition because i’m a fan of the series.

whats your point? you spent alot of money on a game because you liked the ones that came before? point i was getting at is this happens. give them some time. it is a complete game, just not what people were expecting.

it is not a complete HALO game. by far, not even close. each game in a series should triumph over the last one and include the best features and content that the previous game(s) offered, and then improve upon those features and content, Halo 5 is lacking heavily in Halo-themed content by a LONG shot.
and slowly, giving us necessary Halo content via free DLC’s should not be an answer, id rather PAY for maps than have to keep updating an unfinished game. the fact that they are releasing FREE DLC that gives content other than the basic multiplayer maps/asthetics (player skins, emblems, etc) should tell you something is not quite right

then why did you 1. spend so much money on this game and 2. why do you play it? i’m generally curious.

i’m not currently playing. the servers are down.
- because I enjoyed the previous games and was promised a new/better halo experience with this title - so i invested more money because I wanted to support the series.
- because I still have faith in this game, dispite its lack of quality content. much like many other members of the Halo community, i see potential and would like for 343i to listen to us as Bungie tried desperately to do.
I have faith in the game. I play it despite its shortcomings because i see potential in its future.
Also, I love halo. and have no other games besides MCC, GTA5 (currently uninstalled to make room for H5), and Destiny (reached the endgame and there isn’t really anything to do but grind for gear and crucible)
So dispite its overall lack of necessary content, i choose to play because i still enjoy what the game currently is and await what is to come. but i’m still going to voice my opinion as i payed money for this game and see a giant void in content.

wait wait wait… no…stop… i cant take this…you realize compared to me and you they are literally ROLLING IN MONEY. WHY THE HELL DO YOU TURN DOWN FREE STUFF? (not sure if you realize but if i remember correctly this is supposed to be a trilogy or sometinhg along those lines). i agree with you they left out some important things but does it matter? you still got a game out of it or does having something people worked really hard on not matter much to you?
EDIT OF ALL EDIT’S…alright i understand what your getting at. when i posted this i was expecting someone who is a general -Yoink- and not someone who actually puts up a decent and constructive argument. (was focusing on the people who don’t realize stuff like this happens and there are other things to do) thank you by the way for not being an -Yoink-.

no seriously i’m not rolling in money, for 1. to be completely honest and to put my head under the guillotine i’m currently on EBT food stamps as well as cash benifits through the state, i have public housing and cannot afford a decent internet connection, yet i still choose to play the game, and still choose to voice my opinion to at least try to help 343i see what needs to be fixed.
no i’m not turning down free DLC, i’m saying that instead of giving us free content updates in the form of DLC, they should have put that FREE content into the game prior to release. i would rather pay for optional maps/multiplayer aesthetics than only given free DLC that should have otherwise been in the game to begin with.
servers are now up.
honestly i agree with you. they should’ve done that but maybe those ideas didn’t come to them at the time or maybe they hit a deadline faster then they could handle and could only do these things as free content after release, if they would have managed to put all of that in there to start then just said pay for maps and dlc and such they would’ve been compared to ea and called money whores. not by you or me but i know for a fact someone would do that.

but for how long… they’ve been up and down repeatedly for the last hour over different regions… so who knows if its going to stay that way, or if it will even work for everyone. let’s hope its good to go…

So it is my fault that I had hope?
I spend 400$ for an xb1 and another 70$ for the MCC.
Is it much to except that the game works as least as good as the previous title (Halo4) did?
Maybe the launch failed. I can live with that, because many games fail at launch.
But almost every developer works 25h a day to make the game run as it should.
GTA, Medal of Honor, Rainbow6, and a few more. All developers gave their best to make the game run.
But 343 needed 8months just to make matchmaking decent. And now we get nothing? The game still needs one or two patches.

i also hope your situation improves my friend. i know the pain since i’m currently in an equivalent situation. have a good day. maybe we’ll see each other on the battlefield, if that’s the case may the best spartan win.

you do realize that all they did was pack 4 games (and the new H2A as a 5th game) onto one disk and didnt really change anything about them? so it isnt really the fault of 343i if the games don’t necessarily run properly online, its just a flaw of the game. and yea, your argument doesn’t compete with mine because you basically just added fuel to my original argument - all of those games you mentioned eventually gave way to a sequel where the fanbase shifted and focused more on the new game, so why would a developer spend money and man-power focusing on a potentially dying game when the new game has more hype and a bigger fanbase?
now i know that holds less weight when it comes to halo because MCC is just as popular if not more popular that H5 (mostly because it is far less broken and has the Halo content players are after)… but if they shifted weight to MCC and focused less on H5 then the potential for H5 to triumph over MCC is completely lost… so… i’m not sure i still understand what you dont understand about the idea behind game sequels… the new game comes out, players shift gears, the developers have to keep up with the new demand… its basic economics supply and demand…
or would you rather see MCC prosper while H5 gets an even slower content release?

They did brag about their servers ALOT when they were advertising the xbox one.
am not pissed for the servers beeing down , but the lack of information is the ticker , after playing wow im used to get info on server status after 5-10 min of somtihng happening , and all maintenance is pre announced.

But the point of a Dev developing a game is to make sure it works, online or otherwise. The fact the game didn’t work is the fault of the developer and publisher who released it.
You can’t dump 4 files on to a disc and say “it’s not my fault it didn’t work”. It was your job to make it work. 343i got paid to make it work. They contracted out that work and money to other devs. People paid full money for MCC all the same. Except MCC didn’t have any meaningful shelf life. The first 5 months of the game’s life it was still fairly broken. With Halo 5 looming it shortened MCC’s life span significantly. from Nov 2014 to Oct 2015. That’s less than a year of being the only Xbone Halo game. and for 5 months it was broken? that’s half the game’s value gone. Because 343i didn’t do the work that MCC required. And after those 5 months the shoddy work, and complete lack of meaningful updates and just generally being a poor product meant people stopped playing. Reducing the population and again reducing the products value.
Regardless of whether Halo 5 was coming, or is here now. People paid MS and 343i for a full working product and they didn’t deliver on that. If any of those other games mentioned had been completely broken but fans were told to wait until the next franchise release to be able to play, people would have been fuming.
