Simply put, the moderators that govern these fourms are terrible. They rule over these forums with an unjust and iron fist. Take a hint from Bungie. Let the community moderate itself. Being that Halo is a mature rated game, we should be old enough and mature enough to do this. Also quit locking every thread that even slightly bashes 343 and/or Halo 4. Fans are passionate about Halo. We always have been. And from time to time words will get heated. But by locking every “negative/unproductive” thread makes it look like you are intentionally hiding bad publicity. Thanks.

That’s false…there are plenty of threads bashing 343i/and or Halo 4 not locked…what forums are you referring too where “every” thread doing so is actually locked?
you do realize that the moderators do NOT work at 343 correct?
They dont lock threads just because people post displeasure about 343 or h4, they do lock threads that include posts that are against the forum rules and posts that call the game a cod clone.

Lolwut? The Bungie community is mostly terrible now. Only the gaming section is worth reading - the offtopic, which used to be awesome, has been flooded by trash as the mods have taken a much more lax approach.
Unfortunately, any shot taken at mods makes the mods feel as if its a personal attack against them. To tell you the truth, I don’t blame them. They also have a job to do, and if they don’t do it, they lose it. I think if the community can prove itself mature, I think the mods may loosen up a little, but with the way the forums have been lately, I don’t see that happening for a while.

Sorry, I laughed at this. I think the mods do an excellent job of cleaning up this forum, and I’m positive this one is going to get locked shortly. And I don’t know how long you were on the Bungie forums for, but sell-governing really didn’t work. Reading the Reach forum there was more rabble and idiotic posts than one could count.
If you have a problem with the mods here, maybe you should go back to B.net?

But how can we prove ourselves if never given the chance. As soon as words get harsh the Mods swoop on down, metaphorically slap our hands, shake their heads and tell us “no”. We can never prove that we are competent enough to govern ourselves.

If you read the forum rules you would see even this thread is against the rules, you are not allowed to discuss moderator decisions publicly. They are supposed to be private messaged to superintendents, monitors, the forums team, ruzzikel, or bs Angel.
This thread by any interpretation of the forum rules should be locked and I’ve asked higher up monitors to check this thread but I’ve personally left it alone, for now. For your and public reference the superintendents and monitors here are volunteers donating their time and effort to keep things organised and clean here.
There is no 343i agenda in our actions at all. The fact is there is no conspiracy to cover up player/member feedback or public opinions. Play nice, post in the correct forums or official threads and we’ll not intervene at all. There are official threads, forums and a search feature for a reason. Use each of those before posting or spamming the forums please.

For starters, I see more threads bringing up the CoD comparison. OK, first, don’t come to a HALO forum with anything COD, second, instead of rambling on and on about how much Halo 4 sucks now without any valid reasoning, try rational discussions, when the threads about abusive and vulgar posts by immature children stop, then, you might be given the chance. In here, one bad apple does spoil the bunch.

Probably because it breaks the rules? This has nothing to do with Halo 4, and you’re calling out members of the community. In fact if anything this whole thread proves that the community cannot self-govern itself since people can’t follow the rules =/

I am simply trying to bring to the light an issue I feel is hampering this forum. When the fanbase is censored so easily, how can we discuss the game series we are so passionate about?
