343 has to sell US, the game. They bear the burden. It’s not our place to just “trust 343” to make the game good, march into Gamestop, and buy the game mindlessly. It’s their job to PROVE to us that the game is worth buying. If we see things we don’t like, it’s our obligation as members of the Halo community, to say something. We bear the responsibility to help 343 understand the pulse of the Halo community, and I take it very seriously. So stop bending over and letting 343 walk all over us. It’s up to them to make the sale.
And let me just say, these CoD-like concepts are really, really bothersome. If there are perks (like regen health and extra ammo), classes (like customizable loadouts), care packages (like ordnance drops), and default sprint, I’m not buying the game, plain and simple. If I want to play that kind of game, I’ll play another game. Halo needs to be unique, or else there is no reason to buy it.
Actually it’s up to reviewers to prove to you if it’s worth buying.
Cool beans, don’t by the game, just one less self involved community member to spoil the broth
343 have proved themselves to a lot of other people. You can go away now.
More BS. There is nothing “self-involved” about being a consumer in a marketplace. 343 needs to make the sale. By calling me “self-involved,” you’re basically saying that I’m out of line for not being a mindless drone who worships at the altar of 343. Is it “self-involved” for them to ruin our favorite franchise without regard for the huge responsibility of living Halo 4 up to the franchise’s expectations? I think so.
I agree with you 100%. I trusted 343i to do good with this at first, but by the looks of it, this game will just make me rage as much as Halo Reach did. I think just because CoD is the top FPS (for now) other FPS games SHOULDN’T copy them, it just makes the game look worse. I mean, take a look at CoD & how UNBALANCED it is now, take a look back at the original 3 Halo’s, Halo is balanced, meaning the game is actually fun & won’t make you rage as much. Now, take a look at all the info that was recently released. A lot of it is copying CoD meaning the game MIGHT be unbalanced. Well, that’s all I got to say about this situation.
Dude… Relax…
It’s not even E3 yet…
And we haven’t even seen actual gameplay yet…!
Chill, bro!!

They want to make halo 4 live up to the expectations just as much as you, they’ve said that repeatedly
…
…
YOU WON’T BUY THE GAME?
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
Yet another…
regenerating health is in most of the recent halo’s and where has it said anything about “perks”
Halo isn’t altogether unique, y’know. It’s one shooter amongst many. Even back in the day, it was such a big thing primarily because it was a good console first-person-shooter, it had vehicles, and its weapon balance (at the time, most games simply had a progression of better and better weapons).
Well, it’s definitely got weapon balance as a big focus. And we did see Chief in a warthog in that first ViDoc. So that stuff’s still there. What are you really moaning about? Remember, this is supposed to be a new game.
“They want to make halo 4 live up to the expectations just as much as you, they’ve said that repeatedly”
Often, what one says, and what one does, are two very different things. The question to ask yourself is, “Is Halo becoming more like CoD, or more unique?” If the answer is “it’s becoming more like CoD,” then we need to say something. Hopefully, 343 will listen to us if we speak up. And if they don’t listen to us, then they’re going to release a big fat flop of a game this November. If they listen, I’ll buy it, and so will many more people. Otherwise, I’m not wasting my money.
And it’s not about making a big huff and puff. We need to man the heck up and say something before it’s too late.

No, but it IS self involved to consider yourself so highly in the fanbase, like the game needs to be catered specifically to your sale, 343 has the tough job of having a hugely diverse fanbase to sell to, they can’t please everyone and I’m sorry if you and select others are unhappy with certain additions, that’s too bad. I can assure you the people that will enjoy and accept these minor changes in Halo 4 WILL vastly outnumber the people that hate them.
Not another ignorant “halo is now COD” advocate. GIVE IT A REST. The game is not turning in to COD. Why are you judging a game you haven’t even played yet? I’m sure all of these new features will work out in a way that suits halo. I read somewhere that 343 even said that halo 4 wont play anything like games that it is being compared to and that it’s something you need to actually SIT DOWN AND PLAY. For example, custom loadouts only allow you to spawn with basic weapons and your choice of an AA. It’s not like COD where you can spawn with anything, including power weapons. This system is to suit your style of play and eliminate weapon specific starts. You want a BR instead of an AR? Go for it. But people like you see custom loadouts and think “OMG HALO HAS DIED. COD IN SPACE GUYS. IM NOT BUYING THIS GAME”. You guys calling halo 4 COD IN SPACE aren’t helping any more than people who actually trust 343 to do a good job. I honestly hope you don’t buy the game. It won’t make as big a difference in the population as many people who threaten to not buy the game think.

Haha, sorry OP ^^
First of all, it seems like the community likes these changes, every thread on the subject has had more “pro Halo 4” then “Pro Halo 3,5”. You’re out manned and out gunned.
Secondly, the majority of the Halo players don’t even visit the forums and even less cares to vote, almost all casuals stays offline, and we all know that the casuals would prefere a new game with new features and improved gameplay, over the same game over and over (lololol) ^^
Last but not least, 343i needs to sell the game, not to you, not to the community, but to anyone. And right now, the most popular/best selling games are Wii Sports/Fit and CoD, and so far I prefer CoD over Wii stuff.
But I think most has realised that Halo 4 will be unique and not a CoD clone, and one day you’ll too realise it, the day when you actually try the game.

Quote for agreement, sir!

I don’t see many people shouting from the rooftops about how much they love the concept of classes and perks in Halo. When people heard there might be offline bots, you heard how much people loved that concept, myself included.
But there are some changes that don’t add much value to the game (or sales), but actually drive some people away. For instance, how many people do you know who are angry with the concept of offline bots? Hardly any. How many people are angry with the concepts of bloom and 5-shot BRs? A ton.
How many are extremely happy about bots? A lot. How many are extremely happy about 6-shot pistols? Basically none. So why ruin the pistol if it doesn’t sell more games? Why include classes if no one is that excited about it?
Our role is simple: Give 343 our honest opinions. If we don’t do that, how are they going to know what the community thinks?

Why don’t I see tons of forum topics exalting the virtues of extended mag perks then? Where are all the people who are so excited about 5-shot BRs?
You, and people like you, are not thrilled with the new crappy editions. You are complacent with them. They don’t bother you. That hardly qualifies you as someone who loves the changes.
There are people who will buy the game no matter what (you), and there are people who will buy it only if they like it (me). If 343 has you in the bag already, why shouldn’t they try to extend their sales to people who are on the fence?
Actually OP is right when he says its up to the community to give input. That’s why these forums exist. Most people construe these kinds of topics as complaining. But all it really is, is an opinion being voiced. So maybe people shouldn’t trample all over it. Don’t like what he said, post why you think he’s wrong. Or make your own thread with a counter argument. But don’t just throw out random insults or cliche statements like “stop whining” or “go play halo 3 if you don’t like it”. Because you’re not helping you’re hindering.
