Am i the only one who thinks its nuts that H5 doesn’t have this?. It annoys the hell out of me when i am limited to certain hours so i can try to get a local server. It claims to be a competitive game yet its matchmaking is very casual. People from all continents just get stuck together i was playing today with Mexicans i mean come on i am in the EU connecting to the west coast it was to Not impressed and its beyond the joke now. For casual play like warzone i couldn’t care but for arena etc it matters alot maybe its just me i don’t know.
343 ran a test of improvements just before the holidays, last note on that is that they are analysing the results to see if they can run with it or if they need more changes. Probably find out more about this month as they settle into their new offices.

Forgot to add i love this game and everything about it but its this which really bugs me i shouldn’t be emptying a full magnum clip into someone and them not die.

Weren’t the tests to help people find matches quicker? We need the option to be able to search for a match in our own regions i mean have the choice to so for example an American player can do an arena search for a US server only match and same for EU and AU. The changes which were done previously addressed some not being able to find matches. Thanks for the response. Do you think we may see anything like this implemented?
We can only hope. The EU players have perhaps a 2 to 3 hour window on weekdays when its possible to have an even game.
Can only say that when all the stars align and i am lucky enough the game feels fantastic. Almost like i am in control of what happens and not subject to latency. It is then that i realise what a potentially superb game Halo 5 is. It doesnt last long though and i am soon back to rubber bullets, bubble grenades and inneffectual slaps posing as melee attacks while being royally and quickly killed by apparent gaming gods.
Fingers crossed there is some kind of fix on its way.
yes i just want a option to selct only use servers located on my continent , am not asking for improvment to your netcode og to change prameters for matching , i just outright dont want to play on american servers . its that easy , and i dont mind if matching will be slower , give us a indication that ther is players online in my region so i know that ther are potential matches and we are golden .

I don’t know why we do not already have that, Titanfall has had it since the beta, Titanfall uses the MS Cloud, surely Halo 5 uses it too.
Considering we were promised selectable data centres like titanfall has after the beta I’m curious as to why they weren’t included in the final game

Yes, they would be a big help. As they promised them, I wonder why we don’t have them.
Yes its most frustrating While i like the game its quite a bit of money to shell out for this kind of performance. Most guys who work in the EU will find it a pain to play peak time because it will be too late and we will end up on the US servers. Bravo and the dev team haven’t even said much except for how they made some changes to the matchmaking which as far as i am aware it was intended to help those in the AU find matches easier? Not sure if that worked or not.

I find matches here in Australia in most playlists now. We play with US players though. Played with a few from Asia and a lot from New Zealand as well. Haven’t played with any European players that I know of yet.

I hear ya we want regional server selection for us all really. Would be aces.
There’s another thread about this, we really need region selection! Ping time is the biggest issue in online gaming, why the hell haven’t 343 realised this BASIC FACT? It’s literally online gaming 101, how could they mess this up so badly?
Im from Asia. Please let us play Halo 5 with all players around the world. I want to play any modes without worrying about the number of players.
