I don’t know what do you mean with “recently” but they have published those improvements only 3 hours ago not before.
Shots around corner, bullet sponging players, teleporting people were still there, even with region lock which brought us nothing but longer search times or total inability to play along with all the common problem we have since the beginning.
In my opinion lag is certainly not good and for that 343 has to do everything they can to privilege matches in nearer regions when searching.
PRIVILEGING DOESN’T MEAN LOCKING: IT’S OBVIOUS THAT THERE CANNOT BE REGIONAL MATCHES ANY TIME DURING THE DAY, BUT MATCHMAKING AS A SERVICE MUST BE UP AND RUNNING 24/7.
NOT BEING ABLE TO PLAY FREELY IS THE WORST FAILURE SO I’M GLAD THAT THEY HAVE ADDRESSED IT.

EU players are laggy all the time even in EU servers.
Cant find a game because many gamers already had enough of the lag and nobody playing in the morning. I dont mind if i search 1min or 5 just solve the lag problwm somehow. In the rocket league (10 pounds game) there is an option to search in eu, us or australia. Is it so hard to put in the halo? The MCC was a nightmare and didnt had any servers but i managed to play some lag free games when the host was “near” me but in halo 5 its too rare…
I will give up on the halo series. Im playing since halo 1(xb connect) and i played all the halos online but the mcc and this one is too much for me. Im playing to have some FUN, but i became angry in the first match because i shot somebody in the head 6 times and he kills me full shield with a single punch. Thats just too much.
Halo is for the US only.

I hate new maps why dont you leave us an option to play on other maps? I get it, you put a lot of hours to make a new map but im playing. Let ME choose which map! At least a f.ng vote button.

This is an absolute disgrace that months of campaigning for better latency free games has now been forsaken for the sake of players (including myself) being unable to find games at off-peak times.
My solution during off-peak hours was to simply join a US fireteam and I was perfectly happy with this as it meant I was still able to play the game knowing that I would be at a disadvantage connecting to a US server. To take away the locked in peak hour gaming on EU servers is unforgivable.
Are the network and development team at 343i that incapable and incompetent that they are unable to implement an intelligent matchmaking search engine that matches players based on ping and then expands if no games are found? Why are you unable to provide the gamers (ie your customers) with the option of selecting good connection or fast search time presences like many other games? If you dont have the knowledge or expertise then -Yoinking!- hire a decent team of coding and networking professionals for -Yoinks!- sake.

This way you would get your exact server data we choose where we want to play, and you can change resources on usage.

Come on 343 still have heaps of trouble finding games in modes that aren’t as popular get rid of region lock completely because this is ruining halo. I know so many people that have quit halo because of this

Thats because nobody is playing these playlists. No unranked slayer, no doubles, no snipers. We have slayer and warzone, thats all. A lot of gamers already left because there are no traditional playlists, the lag, the ranking system or just get tired of waiting to find a match. 343 already late again. Maybe with the halo 7 they will learn something( at least that the world is not just america only), but i will not buy more halo games thats for sure.
Lol now I’m lagging even when I’m in a custom game alone. That has never happened to me before. Great.
I’ve found the region lock is gone also and I’m playing Americans with terrible latency. This game has been amazing since February with the region lock in place. Fair, good latency games.
Now it’s gone, it’s terrible again. Please put it back to how it was. I’d rather wait 10-15 minutes for a game than play one second of it on an American server again. Playing on American servers is a nightmare and I’m not sticking around to do it.
If you force the rest of the world to play on American servers, you will lose players like water. I know of so many that ditched the game because of this, multiply that all over Europe. How many did you lose in the first 3 months that didn’t return because of the latency to American servers. How many will you lose now if you revert to American servers again? Not only are you diminishing the current halo 5 population but you are crippling future halo games because these players are so sick of it, they don’t trust the 343i brand. They’ve left for games like the division that have regional servers. There’s indie games on there that manage to do this, how can you not?

This is obviously good news for those that like to play in the early hours or in other parts of the world, however it is essential that this is just a fix for off-peak hours and should NOT (repeat NOT!!!) be implemented as a server configuration during UK/EU peak hours of gaming.
PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE REGION LOCK SERVER SETTINGS FOR UK/EU PRIME TIME GAMING HOURS.
ALTERNATIVELY PROVIDE YOUR CUSTOMERS WITH SEARCH OPTIONS FOR GOOD CONNECTION OR FAST SEARCH.
If this current server configuration is in place as a permanent solution then I, and many thousands of other UK/EU players, will more than likely stop playing Halo5. It really is that simple.

I know how you feel whatever they did has made finding a game in Aus almost impossible and the games that are found take about half hour or more. I was only for about 6 hrs today found 2 warzone game 3 Arena games

How much time you spend to find these “laggy” games with US people? A few minutes or seconds?
What time you tried experiencing this? Late night, early morning or prime time?

The match was terrible shots were not registering, players rubberbanding, enemy team had a clear advantage. Why for the love of God have you removed region lock? I never once had any problems whilst it was implemented, but now it’s just like it was before. Americans with a clear advantage over EU players. This is simply not acceptable! We live in an age of cutting edge technology yet we are forced to play on servers half way round the world! Words cannot even describe how disappointed I am now that region lock has gone. Absolutely gutted.

With region lock you usually been able to find a BTB match at all?
Anyway find pretty normal to find overseas players at that time because not much EUs are online at morning during work hours. Before yesterday fix i wasn’t able to find anyone at all at morning since early February, so i’m glad that now, at least, is possible to play instead of watching the screen waiting for “Unable to match” messages.
To me the real point here is, how the behaviour will be on prime time when is plenty of EUs? Will the system privilege nearer players or it will match up us blindly with the first players found online (most likely americans)?
This evening i’ll do a few tests to find it out.

Exactly this. At onyx level ffa you are at a rdiculous disadvantage against americans on their servers. Being two -Yoink- by magnums behind walls is no fun nor is having your perfectly placed shots nit connecting whilst their missed shots do. I would choose eu servers. But because i dony care much about team slayer and i can out br diamonds even with the latency issues i dont mind playing any server for that one. I just want to be able to choose when i get put at a disadvantage…
