They updated the original post for this thread. Don’t know exactly what’s changed except the strict region lock has gone and we get put on American servers again. Whether there’s supposed to be some smart algorithm that prioritises your local server then moves out to replace region lock, I don’t know but it seems we just instantly get American servers, like pre region lock.

And we are unable to consistently play matches in Team Arena, Slayer, or Big Team Battle. (search times fail or take over 5-10 minutes)
Meanwhile Warzone Assault, FFA, Breakout and SWAT do NOT work.
So yeah, region lock is a nightmare, right?
Australia is still region locked. We’re not wanting to play with the US (lag for everyone), but it’d be fantastic to just have the ability to search nearby regions so that we can actually play the game
Search for a good connection (only search your region)
Search for a quick game (only find others searching for a quick game)

I tried several times to play at 8 AM on team slayer (i’m ONYX ok?). With region lock my absolute record was 1 HOUR OF WAITING BEFORE FINDING A MATCH.
Am I impatient? I don’t think so.

I had initially complained and posted about my inability to find matches between October and December 2015. The issue got resolved and I had no trouble match making until a couple of days ago. Today I tried several times and different playlists and its Deja vu again seeing the unable to match screen.

choose UK because I thought since Xbox was officially released there, there should be many players to connect with… Tried Germany or France with no success, so I switched back to uk. Routing all your traffic through one Dublin server is definitely a bad idea as we can see here… Ping times are just absurd…

Playlists: Only team slayer and breakout seem to work with almost no issues… warzone was working but I got tired of people driving arround like crazy… I basically bought the game to relive the glory days of solo deathmatch. Other playlists don’t load up for me - I get that red timeout screen which I got tired of so I essentially just stopped playing, lost money and nerves in the process… I get timeout screen also on team slayer after playing for a while; also that is the only playlist that let me rank in February…
At this rate, I think I’ll stick with doom for multiplayer carnage - it’s been half a year now and the game still doesn’t work the way it says it does… In these parts of the world we take things like these to courts… How about you guys??

Whether or not this is a positive experience for them I cannot say, but for me, it kinda creates the feeling of a lack of players.

I have lots of trouble finding games in anything but slayer during the day. I and all of my Austalain friends can’t get games in free for all or war zone assault ever. Doesn’t matter what time of day or anything these playlists never put you in a game and it’s been that way since a month after the game launched.
