343, it’s clear that those who are not suffering from region difficulties do not want to play against other regions.
Please just allow us to have the choice:
343 better put the region lock back on. Its unplayable now, competitive Halo is dead for everyone outside USA now. 
Im not defending 343 but things are a bit more complicated with dedicated servers, there’s no more pier to pier connection so asking for options like faster search times or good connection games aren’t viable. A solution needs to be thought of though. I paid $140 or whatever it was for the limited edition in Australia so trust me I’m on the verge of going postal. I can only play in 2 playlist team slayer and team arena, I think they need to look into what Titan fall did with dedicated servers that worked and what gears of war ultimate edition is doing with servers because they’re working. Honestly even go back to how the beta connections were they were great didn’t have an issue with them, either way there can be no excuse here they need to fix this issue and fix it now

Sincerely when 343 wrote about those new “tweaks” to improve search times I really hoped that they wouldn’t take off blindly region lock without doing anything else on better connection privileging front.
This is exactly the reason that made me wrote the topic “…Region lock is not the answer” where I explain that AN HALF WAY IS MANDATORY.
Being region locked until it is up and running can be fine for me.
Anyway just a consideration after all the games played yesterday: matches sometimes were found at light speed, so fast that’s impossible that was room for any “privilege better connection first” mechanism; sometimes instead they took a while to be found even if in that particular moment there was plenty of US players to be matched with.
Maybe (it’s more a hope than other) they have done something more than simply removing region lock, they just have to tune it better.
I think we’ll see the next week.
The only way to tell is for more ppl to do more tests with their server findings…the evidence so far suggests that we are back to square one (pre-February) where EU servers are found in approx <10% of games. This is not acceptable particularly when UK/EU players have been playing on almost exclusively EU servers since the region lock update in February.
I have always preferred Warzone simply because Arena had always been unplayable for me pre-region lock and unfortunately I never got around to playing much Arena when region lock was implemented…however Arena is officially unplayable now whether I want to play it or not. The only option is to play Warzone and try to avoid any kind of CQC and limit my frustration to bad hit registration on long range kills. This is not how a “competitive” game should be played.
I am happy that region lock in in place… I can now find any match anytime.
However it must be said … I havent been lagging at all but I have been kicked from about 3 games today because of servers, which isnt acceptable.

Removing region lock is only a quarter of the solution to everyone’s problems.

Please find below links to a number of new and existing threads that have been created or risen from the dead since the ridiculous decision to remove region lock in Halo5. You may have helped to resolve the issue of players being unable to find games at off-peak times, however this has come at the expense of reducing the overall game quality with high latency for thousands of players across the world not just in the UK/EU.
Surely a games developer that has publicly bragged about their $2.5m HWC can afford to hire an experienced and knowledgeable network and development team to implement a reasonable solution to these 2 separate issues. Just to give you a clue…fixing the issue of players being unable to find games at off-peak hours by removing region lock that prevented high latency games is not a considered to be a reasonable solution.

Yep we got screwed with MCC and now we’re getting screwed with halo 5. The USA is there main priority that will ever change and EU is there 2nd but EU players are getting screwed too atm

Yep, absolutely nothing has changed for us. Considering most of the regional reports were from Australians, you’d think that’s where they’d start, but nope. We still don’t exist.

I will note that the “first game” I referred to was definitely on a USA server. After the nade delay the whole game (which I’m not complaining about… beggars can’t be choosers) I checked the profiles of the players in the match and noticed a couple had ATL as their location (assuming Atlanta, Georgia). The latency felt about the same as I remember from Halo 3 where USA hosts were the norm. After that I figured at least we can find games outside of prime time and against different people for a change, but it didn’t happen again all weekend. Regularly met the “not enough players in your region” spiel for the rest of the weekend.
Its a shame they can’t bring back the search good connection option for those paranoid about connection. I’m sure there is still enough casual players willing to stomach the lag to find more than a couple of arena matches per hour.

So been unable to play any good games since you removed region lock. every game has lag. If its not rubber banding players, immortal players its subtle lag that just makes you lose every fight unless lucky. Yesterday was my last try, i did 2 trys of warzone to test connection. 1 game was 10 mins of lag until i disconecceted, and game 2 was 5 mins of lag until i disconnected.
This is what every game looks like Youtube i could record many more, but im simply not playing the game anymore. sad to say, that yesterday was the first day since i got the game that i didnt play. but if you like competetive play, lag cant happen, its just number one! you cant solve people not finding games by introducing gamebreaking lag to all.

Apparently they made some changes as of the 31st of March, but I don’t see any improvement at all. Playlists are still unplayable and almost all of my halo time is spent searching.
Please 343 specify your changes.
