So yesterday I was playing warzone with a few friends, and all of the sudden after a few games I lagged out and was unable to rejoin them. I kept getting a message that read: “UNABLE TO JOIN- you were unable to connect to the fireteam. Please try again.” I tried to join one of the people today, and I got the same message. Could it be that he’s from EU and I’m in the states? I can find games just fine by myself. Any help is appreciated
Don’t think the game’s locked between the EU and US, happens between US and US too. It’s just one of Halo 5’s quirks that was never fixed
I’ve lived in Europe for 6 months (when I was there a year+ ago). I was able to play H5 fine. I’ve lived in South America for 1 year. Connections are really good. Now I’m living in Australia. Connecting is still good but sometimes feels limited here perhaps because of the time zone differences which does affect the population.
Anyway, point is, it’s not region locked. When ever you see that message pop up on your screen just turn off the game and turn it back on. H5 is a very buggy game. I have to turn the damn thing on and off so many times just to play because it won’t work otherwise

Ugh yeah… Like, Halo 5 usually works pretty nicely. After going through the many Black Screens of Death of Halo 4 and so forth. But when it decides to have Server issues it does a heck of a good job at being annoying. “You have lost connection to the server” out of nowhere, no matter how good your connection itself is or where you’re located. “Your console has lost connection” in the middle of a game, and my personal favorite the “Unable to join game” that combos immediately into “The request to join has timed out” that boots you back to one of the menus while still also showing you as trying to load into the game, making you unable to search again until you restart.
The Voices of War pack had a lovely bug associated with it that sometimes prevented its users from loading into a game properly. I was ecstatic that they fixed that, since Buck and Exuberant Witness are just I love them both so much?? I NEED to hear Nathan Fillion in Infinite somehow, even if just as an announcer again.

Speaking of “lost connection”s I was persistently trying to join a social Sanghelli gametype in the custom browser, and every time I tried to join it would constantly tell me something like I couldn’t connect to the server or couldn’t join, something like that. There were just under 16 players. But when there were 6-8, I tried joining again and wolla… I actually joined the game. That’s a first, never seen that happen before

Maybe the game was filled by the time you clicked join so you couldn’t actually join?
It sure feels like it. I recently got my live back and I’m having a hard time finding games consistently. And I recall this exact thing happening months ago, it seems to be a persistent problem for me and I’m not sure if it’s because I’m in the UK because it sounds like the general population is healthy. Or maybe the game is actually dying hence the difficulty in finding games, but it just takes such a long time to find players, often just sitting in the search stage of the lobby for minutes and having to leave because there’s no progress being made. So I rotate the different game modes and I’m lucky to find a game, but once that’s over it’s usually back to square one. Either this game is dead, or dying, or I’m not able to play with people on other continents, it’s just a shame because I want to enjoy the game and it makes it so hard for me to do.
