With the shackles of the Region segregation now broken I’m intrigued to hear what the community’s experiences are like in game now compared to before (by experience I mean server and connection stability, finding games, ping, hit detection, etc.). If you don’t mind, please state what region you are from.
For me, being in the EU (the UK more specifically) gameplay definitely felt somewhat different after the lock lifted. Before, a lot more of my hits felt like they registered and rubber-banding never happened at all, now it seems to have made a small comeback.
Please let me know about your experiences. I’d just like to state I’m not complaining, I’m just interested to hear about other players’ experiences in and out of the battlefield. Thanks
I’m from NA and in a lot of my ranked matches or even in social slayer since I stopped playing ranked now, I’m dying behind walls and turning corners only to have the bullets follow me and kill me when there isn’t a clear sign of the enemy on my map, and people seem to like to eat my shots then all of a sudden have a speed burst in their firing rate on the magnum where even though I got first shot and in some cases the first two shots they all of a sudden catch up in shots and I die.
I’m resorting to warzone assault those gametypes sadly seems to work better than regular playlists.
Even though after a few games it’s boring as -Yoink- to just get spawn killed over and over because the spawns on the warzone assault maps are just in the open of being camped and takes about the brain the size of a peanut to figure it out.
Games -Yoinking!- fun now man.

To be blunt, half the time it feels like I’m being routed to China, over to Bangladesh, up to Alaska, back to China, taking a small trip to visit the penguins and finally returning to the US, or whatever region the server is located, chosen at random from a hat of course. I’m in the US BTW (It may have been lost in the shuffle, so to speak). The other half of the time it is bearable. I just may need to headshot unshielded players two or three times. That about sums it up.

I have had the bullet problem happen to me many more times than I would’ve liked now that I think about it. I’ve also managed to get a few headshots with the sniper in the past couple of days that I shouldn’t have managed to hit. Arena has definitely become a lot more inconsistent, that’s for sure…
I’m a Brazilian player. Before the region unlock update, so many games were hard to find. After the update, i can found games easily, but the connection ping sucks.
The structure of matchmaking in Halo 5 was not thought for brazilian players (or another peripheral country), so they turned off the Brazilian servers and put us to play in american servers. I hope that doesn’t happen in next halo game. I spent almost three months without being able to play games like SWAT because don’t find players never.
They need to do something like Titanfall Matchmaking or Battlefield 4 Matchmaking (with brazilian servers)

Damn, I’m kind of glad that I’m not the only one who witnesses people not dying with a bullet in the brain… Sure can be annoying sometimes to say the least…

Something does need to be done, I know that people not being able to find games at all was one of the main influences for 343i to disengage the region lock. It sounds frustrating to say the least. As you said, a Battlefield 4 / Titanfall type system should be implemented for better national play and, in your case accessibility.

It’s worse than before it was implemented the first time…before it was just latency (still awful and unplayable) but now it’s that PLUS lag spikes, rubber banding and dropping out of games!!

The lag spikes and rubber-banding are more frequent for sure, and it’s annoying… Very very annoying. Until they come up with a solution they should make region lock optional so you can turn it on if you have bad match connectivity, the only problem with that is it could seriously have an effect on search times as it would divide up the community even more…
Got almost every game a delay, games goes on like theres nothing wrong, but i do kills if i miss on purpose, i do a perfect shot with the pistole after shooting 6 times, dieing behinde a wall, getting from the grave medals in a fist fight and so on, for me the game went worse again
to begin with i never had problems finding matches, some times i lagged (famliy netflix overuse) but it was ok, now its pretty hard having fun while playing arena

Arena has definitely suffered the most, before it felt fair and bullets felt like they were hitting their targets, now it feels like every shot misses. The only gamemodes I can play properly on Arena now are Breakout and SWAT, strangely…

Same here, if Fibre doesn’t help then I’m utterly screwed until 343 fix the servers…

I’m from Germany as well.
Before Region Lock was removed I didn’t really struggle finding games: sometimes it took a bit to get into FFA Games but.
If I had to make a guess, I would say I always found Matches in less than two minutes.
Lag or issues with high ping were seen pretty rarely.
I would say the guys I play with (alomst all of them are from Germany, Swiss or Austria) had the same experiences with the game, besides from time to time it took them longer to find matches as some have higher ranks than myself (Example: It took over 20min for someone in high Diamond to find a Breakout-match).
After the removal of Region Lock, I feel like I was getting into Matches quicker but with a lot more problems connection-wise. We encountered those issues not only in Arena playlists but also in Warzone and BTB.
