200 ms latency every game = lose almost every 1 on 1.
When search am put on American dedicated server, 200+ ms latency every game is unfair, especially in arena.
The only option that would help is server selection. And even then you would have to have somewhat of a population in your area. Theres not much else that currently can be done that im aware of. Technology hasn’t quite got there yet!

Yea Australians do have crazy latency but i think it effects everyone in the game cus one time i had an Australian in a custom game and it was super delayed for everyone.

Strangely, I only got around 20-30ms on Titanfall 2, but Halo 5 hates me.
Edit: I should add that this is a big reason why I am such a vocal advocate for Physical LAN. If tournaments can do it, then let us do it.

Yeah i used to be champion in swat but 200ms latency swat isn’t fun, i lose to golds now

Without statistics, there’s no argument. We don’t know enough about the population.
I feel as though it has dropped significantly since launch though, but it’s anecdotal.

It’s the location of the dedicated server that causes the lag, Americans on an Australia dedicated server will lag, same thing vice versa.

I understand what your saying. The population here in the US isn’t what your at but it too has gotten smaller imo. But I do feel for Aussie players! I visit Sydney every year in January. We do play a little Halo while there and its no treat!

Woodge, Just remember this! Your not a bad player! I would take someone like you any day of the week and twice on Sundays! 
But seriously you are a good player. Anyone that has to play the crap you have to deal with is unreal! I give you credit no one else here would ever put up with it. The lag is tremendous for you no doubt. One thing that I have noticed here in the US is when region lock was lifted it really hurt the game…And I think that had a greater impact to you guys over all. Im sure there are other factors as well that add to this but that region lock removal was a killer. I read that lengthy article you posted. And doing it from your phone alone makes you a true Spartan!! Make no mistake we love playing Halo when we are having fun! And even I myself don’t find it fun much anymore. As of late ive been experiencing some crazy lag as well. But again nowhere near what you are im sure. I have one friend left playing the game and we still play a few games when we can. I hope the best for you in finding some better games… But I myself will probably just move onto something else that plays better…

No worries. Your welcome! Just hang in there and don’t let any players online get to you. If they only knew how bad you had it. I know its hard not being able to play a game you like. Im right there with you on that. But these servers even here in the US have been horrible… The only ones that don’t have problems are the ones that are very very close to the servers. Outside of a few hundred miles things begin to fall apart quick. So what im trying to say is Halo5 wasn’t ready for these dedicated servers. And these servers weren’t ready for Halo5 either. Out of all the Halo titles H5 plays the worst by far for me when it comes to performance. Im not sure what Halo6 will bring but I will be looking for key features like “server selection” and if it doesn’t have it im not sure I will even waste my time with the game…
