Regicide was a fun experiement, let's move on

I think I’ve played FFA Regicide only a few times in my Halo 4 career. I will use this game as an example as the reason:

I shouldn’t have won by a mere 10 points when I had 28 kills (+13 overall) to a guy who only got 19 kills (-8 overall). Examine the stats more and you will see I should have won by a landslide. I’m sure there have been topics exactly like this, but no Rumble Pit is a huge blunder and Regicide is a poor excuse for a substitute. It was fun for a few games, we need a real FFA playlist pronto.

I think everyone knows it doesn’t work as a competitive FFA. They did say in the last update they are working on a FFA playlist. We really won’t be able to get away from Regicide though since they tied commendations to it…

I don’t know, I might not mind a Regicide Pro now that I think about it.

1)No over shield of damage boost for king
2)king earns an extra 5 points for every kill
3)No Motion detector
4)Set Game Loadouts
5) only extra 10 points for killing the king (bounty never increases)

Maybe a few other things but… mostly 1,2 and 5

Team regicide is decent but regular is so horrible I have no idea why they thought it was good.

Team Regicide is a suitable replacement for VIP.

But FFA Regicide just rewards players for doing very little, and the winning person is disadvantaged for no reason. It’s a bad concept.

I think its a good 4 v 4 game type.

Likewise. I tend not to play team games unless I am with a party, and due to my working hours, I’m not often on when a lot of my friends are. Consequently, I play a great deal of FFA. Hopefully on the FFA playlist’s release it pulls a good chunk of the FFA players and Regicide becomes empty, so 343 release Regicide is not played because it’s an excellent gametype, but because it’s the only FFA offering (and FFA Throwback was not what we were asking for. Slayer please).

This is what I thought Regicide was going to be, pre-release, before we actually knew what it was going to be.

But 343i prove over and over that they don’t think their gametypes fully through.

This thread is about FFA, but I agree that it is an interesting team game if your team actually plays to protect your king.

I agree with the above comment about having both playlists active so that 343 can see their beloved regicide with sub 100 population while normal FFA is above 10,000 on any given weekend.

I hate Regicide, and I mainly use it just to get my commendations done, but the problem is it’s not meant to be played as a classic FFA which some people aren’t realizing. They are working on a normal FFA playlist which should come out late February.

They said they are working on a FFA. Really? How on Earth does it take more than a day to make FFA? 1v1v1v1v1v1. The end! FFA needs no testing. Its been in every single Halo game. Its been in most online FPS. There is nothing to test!

Hmmm. Team, enable or disable? 343 is having a lot of trouble with these custome games options.

Really! All the have to do is disable teams… If the want to get fancy they can disable personal ordinance and random ordinance. Hell if they want to be uber fair the could disable all weapons on map so its just loadouts VS loadouts. Bam FFA gametype was finished in under 5 min. All you have to do is decide what maps and bam, you have a playlist.

343 just wants us to play regicide. No good reason that it took so long to get here.

Agree 100% this is lame how long they’re taking to make minor improvements, such as a simple and necessary FFA playlist, when we need major improvements.

FFA playlist next week but so far it will be for Majestic DLC owners only.

What you’re speaking of is Lone Wolves with is 1v1v1v1v1v1 (6 players).

Personally, I want Rumble Pit. 1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1 (8 players). The more players the better until it gets laggy.

No personal ordinance, no custom loadouts. Everyone starts on the same footing.

No join in progress. I don’t want to join a game that’s almost over. I loved previous Halos because you ALWAYS started a fresh game. If people quit out in FFA it works whether is 1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1 or 1v1v1v1v1 or 1v1v1 o 1v1. It doesn’t matter how many people quit out you still have competition. I always loved that aspect of FFA.

I don’t understand why they are so stuck on “Infinity” gametypes. I don’t want “Infinity” settings. At least it’s 8 man FFA in the Infinity FFA gametype.

I love smaller/medium sized maps so I’m definitely getting it.

Maybe the creators of regicide FFA just really like gangbang -Yoink!-, it’s their muse. Did you guys ever think about that? Huh?

I want rumble pit (with party disabled). I don’t mind variants (regicide pro, classic ffa, infinity ffa etc.) but give us variety instead of a 1-gamemode playlist like Regicide
