Regicide VS FFA?

Lets just start off by saying I don’t really think its fair to punish the leader by putting an icon over his head to be seen anywhere on the map. I also don’t think it makes sense to award so many points for killing the “king” or leader in the first place, this completely takes away from the element of surprise when everyone knows where you are. I understand you camping or hiding when you have the lead is extremely annoying but if the leader hides it gives someone else the chance to get leader so I don’t really get why thy make this playlist opposed to the classic FFA. I’m usually ahead and in several games I have lost just because someone kills me, even though I ended the game in 2nd place with 27 kills, and the winner had 17… it just doesn’t seem right at all. are there any plans to add an FFA gametype? or anymore playlists for that matter?

Regicide has its place, but I prefer classic FFA to it 100%.

I thought it was a cool idea when I first heard about it. After playing a few matches though, I changed my mind. It rewards bad players and punishes whoever is winning. If people enjoy it then that’s fine, but we do at least need a regular ffa playlist as well.

If a classic version of Team Doubles existed I would probably have some faith in this game yet. But I digress, for even a “classic” version would not have weapon spawns, power-ups, or anything else that I actually enjoyed.

ya i agree, I just wish they brought back Team Snipers, Doubles, and a real FFA. that would make this game 10x better.

Personally I like regicide, and there is a strategy that can consistently lead to victory. Obviously being King all the time means you have a chance of bumping someone past you. An effective strategy is to chill at 2nd or 3rd place, kill people without trying to be king (usually means to gun for the king, but stay close enough the gun down people heading his way). Keep a close eye on the score constantly, when the gap between you and 1st is too high you go king hunting. But if you end up being the king, you could potentially bump someone up past you when you die. At the same time, being the target also means you can be fed lots of kills if you are good enough to take on everyone rushing you. Sometimes a sentry can help out with this, though deploying it can be risky. Essentially, being king is a huge risk in general.

I do understand that people like traditional FFA, and I think it should be a mainstay instead of only coming up in rotation like SWAT and other gametypes. 343 industries did say that the regular line-up could change up depending on how popular a particular rotation gametype becomes. If they follow throw with this it will be a good barometer for how responsive they are to feedback, so I’m actually excited to see what happens.
