For anyone who hasn’t played Juggernaut, it was a gametype back in the classic trilogy where one player, the Juggernaut, gained buffs that were specified in the games rules. Some of these buffs could be overshields, extra damage, or invisibility just to name a few. Whoever killed the Juggernaut instantly became him, and typically non-juggernauts would be on the same team and try to take him down.
This gametype was replaced by Regicide in Halo 4, which had slightly different rules. The ‘King’ was whoever had the highest score, so you could kill the King but not become him if your score wasn’t high enough, but killing the King does give you more points than a normal kill. Also, the King would receive buffs for holding on to their high score for a certain amount of time. However, these buffs where limited to overshields and damage boosts. There were also two variants of this game type: Free for All and Team Regicide.
So suppose we could only have one of these in Halo 5, which one would you prefer?
Feel free to correct any of my information if it is wrong.
Team Regicide instead of Team VIP.
FFA Juggernaut instead of FFA Regicide.
FFA Regicide is just -Yoink-. The guy in the lead is basically at a disadvantage because everyone else can still earn points, but they get more points for killing the leader and everyone knows the location of the leader. FFA Juggernaut is more balanced because only the Juggernaut can earn points and he has the power to contend with everyone else.
Team Regicide is actually well designed. The king has guards to protect him, and the point advantage for killing the king isn’t as significant.

This man speaks the truth.
I liked the concept of whoever kills the king becomes the king

That’s true, and while I prefer Juggernaut myself, there is one thing I liked about Regicide.
Since there was incentive for going after the King, and he had a marker above his head, every player in the game would go to the same place and they would all fight to the death. That, is how a free for all should be.
Going a little off topic, any ideas on how we could set up something like this in Rumble Pit? It’s much more fun when everyone is actually rumbling in a pit.

I’m still wanting headhunter back.
