Regicide is the first slayer-type gamemode that requires strategy, not just skill, in order to win.
Sure normal slayer gametypes require some level of strategy, but nothing close to the degree that Regicide does. In normal slayer you can rely on skill without using too much strategy and do pretty good, but if you do that in Regicide you often lose. Regicide requires you to plan and think things through, something that used to only be extremely relevant in objective gametypes.
It might be hated by some people, but it’s still a huge step in the right direction for us strategic players. If anything, Regicide tests the true skill of a player on all fronts. Those who do good in Regicide would make the best Spartans.
