Regeneration field

I would like to see the regeneration field make its return as a equipment in halo infinite and I have an idea of how it should work. The regeneration field should be a small sentinel to stay within the theme of being on a halo ring but when not in use it will be folded on the Spartans arm. When activated it will unfold and hover above the spartan who deployed it and move with them. The AOE will be a 10m dome that any teammate and enemy can walk in and start to regen shields without the usual wait time for them to recharge (no it’s not instant shields it just starts the process) and the recharge process will be delayed by one second if damaged. The drone is also destructible (3 sniper rounds) to shoot it down.

Adding to the post here imagine the regen sentinel and someone else with dropwall the combos will be great!

I like the idea but i think it should be easily killed. This is because they have to aim at the drone then at the person so it shouldn’t take 3 sniper shots in my opinion. It would be so cool to see spartens use drone in general. The turret in halo 4 was a start but not what i was looking for!

Yeah maybe like 1 or 2. I agree 3 was a bit much since its moving

I like the thought, but it still seems too powerful. I think if we make it so the recharge starts in 1/2 or 1/4 time and the recharge rate is double. 60 sec is way to long

The instant start of regen is what I think it needs to be powerful + my idea to make it destroyable is a good counter to it (adjusted health to 1 sniper round) and enemy’s and teammates can use it if close enough. Also when you shoot someone in the field they stop regening for 2 seconds before starting to regen again + small radius around one player

I think the regen would best be suited as a rapid recovery after a fight rather than basically another over shield, maybe it could also instant reload your weapons. It should not guarantee victory in a fight, but I like the idea of it helping to prevent you getting easily moped up after one. H3 regen could, in many situations, be stronger than an over shield. Your suggestion of a 2 second pause could help it not be too powerful.

Im all for more neutral utility. Right now the utilities are almost exclusively for the user only. I’d like to see the grav lift and trip mine make a comeback too.

I think if this was going to be a thing it would need to be easily destroyable, I’m talking a burst or two from a BR, not 3 sniper bullets. That’s sooo tanky.

And the 1 minute timer is way too long. Maybe 15-20 seconds max.

Equipment is meant to be a quick thing you can use to help you in combat.
Having a regen field that’s super strong and lasts 1 minute doesn’t fall in line with what equipments purpose is. Whilst I’m not wholly opposed to a regen style equipment it needs to be balanced correctly otherwise it’s going to have too much of a impact on gameplay and break down the flow of a fight too much.

I always liked the regen equipment in Halo 3. With a power weapon, well placed grenade or teamshot you could still easily take someone down who was using it but they could easily tank bullets from a single player. With quicker kill times I’m not sure how effective a regen shield would be without becoming unbalanced.
