I just want to throw my spice onto the recent news about Forge being delayed from the game release. While I am upset, I don’t see this necessarily as a bad thing considering this game is suppose to be the next big daddy Halo for 10 years. What I’m expecting for Halo Inf is to set the base work for future work done on other Halo titles. That way 343I can stop throwing away assets and re-use more updated variants.
That being said, I’m going to jot down what I think would best benefit Forge justifying a delay. My expectations are lowers than what I state here, so keep in mind what I’m expecting is just a slightly updated version of Halo 5’s version. What I talk about in here are what I hope for in regards to Forge. I’d like to see if anybody else also have idea’s for forge, fill free to jot them down in the comments,
AI in Forge. Considering that AI has never been in Halo, one thing COD has always done, I could see Halo wanting to take it a step further to shove it down COD’s face. If AI came to forge, custom like campaigns or even training or simply just filling roles that players otherwise would hate doing to make fun custom games. Not to mention how it could also be used for Competitive Training to practice tough and hard to do skills in a chill environment before going to the big gangs. Over all this would benefit the community in all subjects.
Terrain Editor/Builder Considering we have a powerful, and I mean powerful Xbox out there, I would assume the original Xbox One will eventually become obsolete. Some maps I have made from the last gen lag tremendously; Now on Xbox Series X and S I have not notice these things. Assuming Halo Inf does what it can I could see a legit Terrain Builder in Infinite.
A life long dream of mine wasn’t just to make my own custom maps, but to make maps that could even look so amazing that you’d think an actual developer made it. I’m impressed what forgers managed to do in Halo 5. If this became a reality, we could end up seeing the creations of news competitive and casual styles maps that aesthetically look like they we’re developer made. Considering this might be too much, considering last Gen, we have seen things like this done within other games like Gears of War 5, Minecraft, Garry’s Mod, and even Halo Custom Edition. Fingers crossed. (ps looking at MCC too)
Physics Editor While it’s cool we can modify the physics already, we don’t have an advance way to do so. Through scripting we can make things appear to move, but things like weapons floating in space, while seemingly being affect in real time proves to be a bit impossible at the moment. It would be cool to be abled to modify how some physics react by allowing us to create how we want physics to work. Such as allowing players to turn up collisions on a certain object so it goes flying on the slightest touch.
Advance Scripting We already have a pretty good scripting, but a lot of it could be fine tuned and even made more accessible. Right now it is hard to get the hang of it, for people who just want to make simple things. I believe Infinite should implore a simple mode for scripting to allow easy editing, but also allow an advance version for players who know what they’re doing to create wacky, or amazing scripts.
Simple and Advance Forge Like in Advance Scripting I think they’re should be a simple version of forge. I know too many of my friends that want to forge but found Halo 5 way to complicated, yet at the same time I Found just as many that enjoyed the Halo 5 style. I would hope that Forge would include ways for beginners to get a hang of the basics, but also allowing experienced forgers to do more advanced tasks.
Biped Modifications This one was only achieved in the past through mods among Halo. I would love to see a way to be able to modify certain spawns, or custom game settings to allow sized up Spartan Models. Godzilla mode anyone? or? Perhaps shrink the spartan size down. Mini-Slayer anyone?
Custom Weapons The glitch in Halo 5 where you could customize weapon pads to spawn unique property weapons was pretty cool, and it was amazing to see what the community could come up with. I’d like to see this return as a feature. Custom Games only of course. (Or maybe actions sack)
Custom Vehicles. It would be nice if 343 gave us some tool to be able to create our own contraptions using existing assets in forge to create our own designed vehicles. The phased vehicles was so cool that creations such as a drivable mammoth came about. What about the Elephant. I would love to see Forge updated in a way, we could create such vehicles on our own.
Forge Hub/Cloud This is already a thing, but the ability share creations you’ve made so other players can use them in their maps; Halo 5 had a version of this, but there we’re so many duplicates it made navigating cool forges nearly impossible if you weren’t looking at the most popular items. If 343 could clear the search up, avoiding duplicates like in Halo 5 that would be awesome. Only maps uploaded to the cloud should be visible, not every map. Even when you save as, it should not appear. I think that’s where the duplication part came from. That’s my only major complaint about it.
That’s about all I really have to saw on forge.
Sincerely,
Koga

That’s a lot of great ideas! Specially about the Terrain Editor that for me is the next big step in Forge for Halo

I’d say aside from AI in forge, that’d be the next biggest thing I’d want. Fingers crossed tho.
