Regards to 1-50 Competitive Skill Rank Thread

I find it ridiculous that this topic has received that level of attention and 343 has not addressed it.

Research indicates that for every complaint expressed there are over 25 unregistered complaints.

Research indicates that for every complaint expressed there are over 25 unregistered complaints.

It doesn’t take a marketing wizz to understand that. Right now 7,575 people feel the same! Do something before it is too late and you lose more of your fanbase.

Link to official thread here.

what research ? and that link doesnt work for me

I would prefer if you didn’t refer to that thread as a complaint thread. We’re petitioning to improve the game instead of whining that it’s broken.

It is a complaint thread. You can sugar coat it and call it something else. Like instead of anti-war you can say you’re pro-peace and make it look more positive but it all boils down to the same thing. People are complaining and those are the proposed resolutions to those complaints.

Actually, complaining and giving constructive feedback are very different. Imagine I made a light bulb that was far too bright. Someone could say “Ow! That hurts my eyes! Your stupid light bulb sucks!” Or they could provide me with solutions to make it easier on the eyes. The only similarity is that in both scenarios the person acknowledges that there is an issue with the light bulb.

Complaining is okay sometimes, but a company is more likely to take you seriously if you provide rationale for your dissatisfaction along with plausible solutions. That way, it’s a productive activity rather than a complaint (notice how there’s no mention of anything constructive?).

The 1-50 Official Thread is acknowledging there’s an issue with the game and proposing a solution with rationale. That’s not complaining, that’s constructive feedback.

And this constructive feedback derived frooom? Complaints. It all began with complaints and to say otherwise is very naive. The complaints themselves are rational. Let me give you an example of a rational complaint my friend.

“I do not like the distance the DMR has because it allows players to cross-map easily and takes away any incentive to travel around the map”

That is a logical and rational complaint. See how I complain and provide feedback about it. Just because I’m not providing a resolution doesn’t disvalidate the complaint itself.

An illogical an irrational complaint.

“I hate you 343!! You ruined halo! Errmahgeerd what am I goin to dooo!”

Thanks for stopping by though!

You’re saying the 1-50 Official Thread is a complaint thread and that isn’t true. Just because some people support the cause based on complaints of their own doesn’t make it a complaint thread. The core intention of the thread is to present something that would improve the game, not to express dissatisfaction with the game.

I like your examples even though they’re irrelevant. It expresses different degrees of complaining.

Let me make it simple:

Complaint thread = Expressing dissatisfaction (focal point is what is wrong with the game)

Suggestion thread = Presenting solutions to issues (focal point is improving the game)

And it’s doing both. I can admit it’s giving suggestions as much as you can admit it is also giving valid complaints that are behind these suggestions.

The statistic is that for each complaint there are 25 others that remain silent. Not each suggestion… I understand the thread has great feedback but that’s the statistic and it does relate to that thread.

This statistic does not discredit that thread but reenforces it so stop your bellyaching dude it’s not a big deal.

Yes, complaining and providing solutions go hand-in-hand sometimes, but the intention of the 1-50 thread is to provide 343i with viable solutions to improve their game as opposed to whining about it. You categorized the thread as a complaint thread and that casts it in a bad light, and that’s why I wanted to correct what you were saying. Not only because it’s false but also because it has the potential to hinder our cause if people view it as a complaint thread.

At the end of the day, we’re on the same side, and I appreciate that you’re trying to throw in statistics to help the cause.
