Yeah, i don’t mind especially when i have 2XP tokens to utilize and level up 2x a day. Give my other games a chance to get played, too. Haha!
Be grateful for what… like sure it’s the best fps this year but that’s not saying much. I’ve never seen a fan base this obsessed with trying to prove how good the game is and say we need to be grateful we got something unfinished lmao.
Why can’t you just enjoy it if you enjoy it, and hope it improves/ works out the issues without telling others to suck it up because you have.
I for one only play the game for my 5 matches of the day and knock out a challenge or 2 to level up. My fav modes like grifball, and infection aren’t in, big team battle doesn’t work, there is no forge to make fun maps to play with friends or goof around and build. There is so much work that needs to be done and we shouldn’t really be grateful for anything…
A real 117 experience isn’t getting sniped out of the sky by grunts and jackals because the health is modified. Easy is the closest thing to a lore accurate master chief lol
Don’t forget to show 343 how grateful you are by sending them a waypoint “support” ticket with your credit card information and government ID. They will definitely appreciate your support. They might even send you a code for a special gray coating.
Jokes aside, it’s a good game concept with the potential to be 20 times better. I give it about 3-4 years to catch up to MCC. If it’s still not any good by then, it will be an irredeemable heap of what it could and should have been, where modding and custom forge games are the only redeeming qualities keeping me playing it. It truly does have the potential to be my favorite Halo game by far. Let’s see where 343 decides to go with it.
This is one of the craziest theories I have ever seen.
You really believe that the devs have designed a system with the design intent being “we want players to stop playing”?
I mean… Based on the Steam population numbers, they’ve been wildly successful at achieving that goal. But there’s no way that was the intent.
“We want you to stop playing for the day.”
This is not outlandish and is actually extremely healthy for both the players and the game for long term engagement. If you only sign on to do your dailies, you’re still pumping their numbers up on the regular, every day.
We got a beta after 6 years. 343 spent six years, say it with me, six years making this game and this is what we get. Halo 3 had 2.5 years of production time and twice the content and was so much more of a game. Grateful after 6 years and this is what we get? If you think this is acceptable for 6 years of work idk what to tell you.
WoW has a similar system encouraged believe it or not, you get a “Well Rested” XP boost when you log off for a while, players that burn out in 1 week don’t keep the playlist full, don’t look at the store every week, and don’t support the “games as a service” format.
This is probably why they give you the 300xp right off the bat and gradually decrease, so you won’t feel like you’re missing out on potential XP for not playing when you can just log on tomorrow and make up lost time starting with 300 again.
I don’t know HOW many games do this, but companies do a lot of relatively dirty tricks in gaming to trick the player in behaving a certain way.
I think Gameranks has a video on the subject but I’m not sure, I can look for it if you want?
Thing is it just doesn’t feel that dirty to me. I kinda’ appreciate the enforced burnout prevention, because some folks really have bad habit building… habits, when it comes to this.
I appreciate being able to play a good Halo game again.
Most of my complaints revolve around options that we don’t have but would expect 343 to add them later: a larger selection of playlists, Firefight and Forge, Co-Op, etc.
The Progression…I think is fine now. For me personally the current rate is enough for me to clear this and future Battle Passes in a timely matter (currently at 94 with 6 Double XPs and 30 Challenge Swaps left and what I won’t be using to get the rest of the way). The monetization is where things need to tone down a bit.
A few things in multiplayer could use some tweaking. Buffs on certain vehicles (Banshee), some game modes/map pairings that I would love to see go and never play again (Stockpile/Highpower and RankedCTF/Behemoth), and obviously more maps.
Otherwise though, gameplay-wise Infinite is a solid game and I for one have been really enjoying it and even being so close to completing the Battle Pass I’m still going to be playing it with friends and family cause its just fun. Just needs some adjustments and a bunch more content.

Yeah… This is not a thing game developers think.
my guy saying this game has hiccups is like saying a 100-car pileup was a fender bender.
Lol then what do they gain from making you ONLY earn 50 xp a game after 5 games….
They sell battlepass levels in the store
N-no, it… LITERALLY is.
I don’t think “greatful” is the word. I think a lot of the complaints on these boards need to be tempered by some honest perspective about Infinite, but the game is far from a flawless or transcendent experience and there are a lot of valid issues with the game.
No, it isn’t. It’s designed to create frustration in order to sell battlepass levels and challenge swaps. Don’t be dumb.
Yes and that doesn’t make what they said wrong. They want you to stop playing for the day or at least stop progressing so you will buy levels, go buy the hundreds of collabs they have for double xp
No, that’s so dumb it’s ridiculous. No game developers want you to stop playing their game.
