Your focusing on the external cash based part of the game but if you were to focus on the gameplay and mechanics this game is amazing. Your focusing on the wrong things
Wrong person? I’m just talking with Primus about how the game encourages you to both get off, and get back on…
Like, you either ignored every prior post and just read my last one with no context, or you’ve messaged the wrong guy.
No, I don’t. For one thing, greed is a far more likely motivator than altruism, particularly when so many other systems are obviously designed around corporate greed. For another, the system does not have the effect of encouraging player retention in this daily manner you suggest. The game is already down over 75% of its population on Steam. If 343 designed this with the intention of “we want everyone playing daily, but only for a little while”, they sure did an awful job at accomplishing that.
No, that is designed amazingly, No one should be playing a game for hours of there life this game is meant to be fun in small doses. The game is addicting and the fun feels real if you wish to spend hours of your life on a game be your own guest. Its like smoking weed or drinking, it is fun in small amounts but you do it everyday and yes you have a problem.
Back at square 1, I never said they did a good job at it.
Can you rephrase? I have no idea what you’re even trying to say.
If you’re saying the game is fun in small doses, that is what I am saying the game is trying to encourage.
There’s no evidence they did it at all.
Advent calendar, diminishing XP over time, there’s 2 right there.
Point me to your dealer because whatever you have has to be good regardless of price.
Yes you are, Im dumb on all levels friend
Diminishing xp returns is a reward for casual players. It’s not meant to discourage players from playing more. You are over-reaching on what you think you have as “evidence”.
You’re good my guy, communication mishaps happen
Tiss what i deserve for speaking out of line
No kidding
, cant count the amount of times ive told someone they got flag you have a blessed day man I truly feel bad for that
Diminishing XP returns is in no way a reward, especially for a casual.
That would be the 300xp qnd 200xp you get for your first 2 games.
Not the 50xp you get on your 11th game.
Even if I was over-reaching, you’re way outta pocket on this one.
Also, the the battle pass ends in MAY, you have a ungoldy amount of time to reach it, Playing 3 hrs every now and then ive reached tier 63, The Campaign also gives many customazation options so that when you are playing through it you are rewarded. To say it is money driven is like saying all humans poop of course it is! You can’t expect them to do this game for free they have fees for there empolyees, have to pay for a multidude of things to ensure that there programmers are feeling good enough to produce a good game. This is there life, and im new to doing forums but I figure my voice may help with correct reading and not just using my instant gratification curse but this game makes sense, and the problems with it are being fixed.
Look, I think all the people complaining about Infinite are (generally) super cringe and whiny. HOWEVER…
Don’t be “grateful” for a piece of entertainment that costs money. You can be happy and enjoy the product, but being grateful for giving someone else your money in exchange for a product is totally backwards.
I don’t understand the need many feel to moralize something that’s transactional. We as consumers don’t owe 343i our time, money, or anything else. They, in turn, don’t owe us anything specific. We owe ourselves investing our time, money, and energy into things we find to be worthwhile and valuable. 343i owes themselves creating a game that will be successful (i.e., draw and maintain a sizeable enough audience and revenue to sustain itself and grow overtime).
Our interests as fans and players and their interests as developers can align when they create a product that we find to be compelling, and I think Infinite is a good (imperfect, but as you say, OP, ahead of the pack for this year) example of this. Infinite has a gameplay experience that many of us can’t get enough of right now. It has progression and customization elements that so many of us are frustrated with, not because we think they’re altogether awful, but because they have undeniable merit, and are just bogged down with particulars that aren’t awesome.
So, should we be grateful? I don’t think I’d frame it like that. I think there is plenty to be satisfied with at the moment, though. And, plenty that could use improvement. I just wish people would stop making the conversations all revolve around whether we should love and thank or hate and rip apart 343. It’s more productive to maintain debate around the specific merits and downsides of the product itself. And, love or hate the “live service” nature of Infinite, it does provide a unique opportunity in the history of this series for big, substantial changes and evolution over time. That’s going to keep things interesting.
please do research. engagement metrics, aka player time spent in the game, is the most important thing for a live service model. you can caps lock buzzwords all day long and still be incorrect, it does not bother me watching you embarrass yourself.
Mmhm. One way to ensure engagement is to encourage daily dis and re engagement.
Thank you for changing that word…i know it seemed like it wasn’t a big deal but it was to many of us.
good day
