Regarding Warzone Firefight Gameplay Mechanics

Not gonna lie. I was pretty freaking excited when I saw the teaser at the end of the Hammer Storm trailer. From what can be seen in the footage, there are new enemy types (Which is always nice), custom Spartan armor colors, and what appears to be a sizable amount of enemies on the map. All that sounds pretty good to me, and I can’t wait to hear more about it and get a release date.

However!

This being a Warzone mode variant, I think it is quite unlikely that the sessions last longer than 30 minutes at the most, so I’m curious as to how the gameplay is gonna work. I wonder if there will be any kind of objectives during the matches, or if it’ll simply come down to throwing stupid amounts of aliens at the players until their live pool is depleted ala ODST. If there are in fact any sort of additional objectives during the matches, then I wonder if the gameplay is going to be closer to that of Mass Effect 3 MP where players fight a set amount of waves with some escort, assassination or KOTH missions thrown in along the way (Which I would personally enjoy a lot)

Anyway, I’d like to know what you guys think about how this Firefight is going to work.

Hmmm i was thinkin like ala odst. But i was kinda hoping for a scarab or kraken battle. I remember seeing that in a ui menu that 343 was using during their first content live stream for battle of shadow and light. Firefight is always gunna be killing mass amounts of aliens why not add a little spice to it? I really want to see like maybe 1 to 2 4 man teams take on major enemy strongholds and destroy the base via tactical nuke or core. Like a raid basically we havent really seem those in a halo coop mode. I think it could be really fun. But im down for whatever you make a good point op.

I missed that, but if that’s the case it would make for some rather interesting encounters. Although I can see grunts and jackals using hailstorms, void tears and talons of the lost becoming the stuff of nightmares. Here’s hoping for insane enemy weapon variety.

You probably won’t last 20 minutes because there will be too much AI. They would probably boost the AI’s health and damage by a lot so we’d probably all die in the end. You get 5 lives a round. That’s just what I want. I hope that the AI are like the ones in the campaign and not these steroid filled ones we have in warzone.

I’m hoping for an ODST “go until all the lives are gone” type thing. That kind of endless gameplay jusy makes for some awesome moments. The longer you stay alive, the bigger the RP payout. Instead of Warzone speed runs where we try for the 0-1000 game, we’d be trying to go as long as possible.

I’m hoping for a kill until you die scenario like odst. But the fact they are calling it warzone firefight probably means they will include extra objectives and/or reqs
