I say bring in every, yes EVERY Halo weapon, even those from the Halo Wars games for example. I remember that kinda different sniper rifle the Snipers use in Halo Wars 2? More compact, boxy one? And the flamethrower! Good gosh, I would love to toast some fur ( and flood ) with that.
But make it First person and NO movement penality.
Also " upgrades " In the map screen tab? Why not make a more umbrella term like MODIFY just in case we might be not only upgrading, but sidegrading, color changing, style, framework, general looks, shape and heck even change a guns sounds to sound more like older games versions. Just a thought…

Yeah… You know what the UPGRADE option tab in Halo Infinites map screen could mean?
Say, take the shotguns that in lore/ canon is the SAME but just with a new graphical repain so to speak. Let us change the aspects of them with upgrades/ sidegrades so they mimick the use they had in past games.
You can have the M90 right? It could be upgraded or not, since the only variation is just looks based, the Aniiversary ones as far as I can tell.

The M45. If you find it in Halo Infinite. You could upgrade it to either function more like the M45D or M45E.
You see where Im going? This way, theres a place for any weapon. Sure balancing will be irky, but the point is bring it all in and worry about balancing later.
Just ADD weapons, not remove weapons becasue of “resons” even if there are lore/ canon reason, theres no hindrance to bake in why say in Campaign you find older models of guns or at least alternate ones.
The Halopedia, 343. Use it to get inspiration. I saw an opportunity and brainstorm on the horizon just like snaps that.
Also, lets take the Carbines, Needle rifle, even the storm rifle, plasma repeater and plasma… rifle?
Why remove them if you could at least balance them later? Why not add for choice instead of remove for bewaffelment of… WHY?
The Pulse Carbine seems to be a hybrid of the Storm Rifle and the Carbine, possibly. I like it, could use some work but I like it.

Pulse carbine (First appearance) Seem to me its a sub version of the Carbine, so if we want the baseline Carbine we could modify the pulse one to behave like its parent baseline and cosmetic option could mean the holobits and coloring scheme we see in the games its in.

Look… Theres no actual model numbering or such, just different iterations… Soooo the Type 33 could be " upgraded " to be any iterations before hand in older games but the looks or style/ framework/ shape could be interchangable. Lets say I want a high capacity Type 33 with very fast needle velocity buuut with a Halo 2 A look. At the cost of weaker lock on to soft targets.

Same as the case for the Needler. No real model alternatives so to speak, jsut iterations between games. Have the PP modifyable to act like the Halo CE one, or newer iterations or a combination of the Halo 4 looks but with Halo CE/ 2/ Reach finish

Type-1 plasma grenade - Type-2 spike grenadeJust a quickdraw tought. I hope if the Plasma rifle/ gun returns. I hope to modify it so it can have the THICKBOI dsig, dsig hard hitting sound it does have in Halo CE… And I think in Reach aswell. The Halo 2 plasma rifle felt pitiful. But that could be due to dual wielding and weakening of base stats due to combine power which would be higher… cough
My favorite weapons are to name a few: the DMR ( I went with at the time underdog sicne the BR were sosooo popular ), SAW, Needler, Needler Rifle, Plasma “rifle”, Plasma Repeater, M45 Reach shotgun etc. Would love to see them in Infinite, if not at launch, at least later on. Just crossing fingers it will be long before the 10 year H: I lifespan.
- You have TONS of potential here, use it. Just take it easy alright, breathe and do your best for not only youself, but us fans, and the franchise as a whole. Soooo much lies untapped for potential.
Also, sidenot: All of this I wrote regarding weapons, but heres the thing, expand this potential to say… Vehicles as well! Having Wasps, Falcons, Pelicans, War Pelicans ( halo 4 ), Hornets, Vultures swarm the skies in MP. MMMMMhmm! Potential, perfection!
Now all of this would not be obviously possible to cram in at launch, bearing that in mind. 343 sure as all Halos have their hands full. But step by step I say why not in the grand scheme at things?
