It’s actually left me so delighted that 343 have shot down the recent rumours that have been spread over the Internet.
I’m on the xbox one S all digital, and so when I found out infinite would be on the game pass I was overjoyed. Seeing the recent gossip that is was to be cancelled on current gen platforms left me a little sad and ready to beg for multiplayer to be its own separate download just so I can play it. However the news confirming that it will still be on current generation consoles is absolutely incredible!
To anyone hating on 343, sorry but they’ve saved Halo, don’t @ me

I certainly am curious as to who spreads these sorts of lies. Industry insiders, or competitors trying to ruin the launch of infinite? My money’s on the latter.

In the Halo community it’s mostly fan speculation which spirals out of control. The idea with this one is that if the game were to cancel the Xbox One launch then the game would therefore be better quality. I generally don’t give these kind of rumours second thought or any comment after people went berserk over the falcon not releasing alongside the ‘Memories of Reach’ update for Halo 5.
This rumour specifically seems to have come from a clickbait Youtuber, and then the community spiraled it like they sometimes do. I think its annoying but also a little charming. Those Halo fans sure are a passionate bunch.

I can’t edit user comments, think you got hit by, you got struck by, a smooth guardian
I have to ask, how do you put the link as text like that?

It’s minutely reassuring to keep seeing Unyshek try to keep all these fires down in Twitter, and I’m happy to take him at his word to the extent that he’s saying there aren’t currently any plans to extend the delay or ditch XBOne support. Still, the broad messaging around this game has escaped 343i’s control, and they need to reaffirm their ownership of the narrative.
The optics around this delay and the rumors have been bad. They may or may not be justified, but without substantive response from 343i, they remain essentially unchallenged. Here’s hoping for a beefy Community Update in the near future that can more reassuringly put some positive vibes back into the picture.

Not just 343 and halo infinite, but a lot of “insiders” have been spreading rumors about companies and games they are developing. The rumor is always more or less the same no matter the company. The game is always more or less in development hell, and the company always treats their employees badly. Dying light 2 and starfield both have almost the exact rumors of development troubles surrounding them. I dont know if these “insiders” just want attention or what, but they are making rumors of many big upcoming games.
Yea, those rumors got out of control for a sec. Unfortunately with the delay I think we’ll see a long period of time where we won’t get much substantial info on the game. People will probably keep filling that void with rumors so I don’t think its over yet.

I’m not sure, but I think Recruits can’t link to outside sources. Maybe that’s why! How Teddy described it was the right way in any case! Also you’re welcome!
Frankly Infinite is the only upcoming game that I really care about, so I don’t really want to buy a new console just for one game. And yeah the series x has backwards compatibility, but I still don’t really want to spend hundreds of dollars to get one new game and keep playing all the games I’ve already been playing. Especially not when I was told the one game I’m excited for will be coming to my current system. I’m glad 343 is keeping true to having an xbox one version of the game.
They saved Halo from the nightmare of… next gen gaming. Now it’s even debatable if it’s worth getting excited for Infinite. It’s not going to be a next gen experience. It’s going to be like COD: Ghosts for the Xbox One. A decidedly last gen experience with a higher resolution.

Somehow typed this in the quote, it all messed up, this worked kinda, please forgive me

I don’t agree with you, I think it will be a very good experience on xbox one consoles. I have faith in 343 and I know they can pull it off.
I reckon it’ll be 60fps, I also think it is going to have an incredibly impactful story and a multiplayer that will have halo fans coming back constantly. There will be things in place for all types of players. I’m personally looking forward to how clans will adapt to the game, guess all the clans are gonna replace Reach?
The thing I’m the most hyped about, is armour customisation. I know it’s gonna blow us out the water!
If 343 can see this, imagine Goku is making the spirit bomb, and they need energy to create a super massive spirit bomb, they get my energy. 343 is Goku, who just created a super massive spirit bomb, went SSB3, the spirit bomb is Halo Infinite and it’s aiming at every other game being released this year, last year, and another 10 years from now!
Guess you’d call that a Whipeout
Also getting 5 different types of kill medals in one life should be called a Whipeout!
