I feel like the open world is pretty empty they need to add some stuff in here like downed Pelicans to fill up some of the space I’m not quite sure what else they can add to fill in the empty space so any ideas are appreciated something they could do to fill in the extra space is add in more FOBs and have them be bigger than what they are because right now they are pretty small someone did mention in another post of mine it’d be interesting if banished patrols did assaults on FOBs I would actually find this more annoying than interesting because I constantly would have to be rescuing Marines instead of being able to focus on the main missions
I agree. I jumped back on campaign the other day and all I need to do now is go round finding the audio clips, which I find pretty dull tbh, I’ve spent my time finding majority of the rest of the collectibles. I love the campaign but they really need to do something with it!
I dunno whether that means making it an online world - heading towards the destiny style but keeping it all halo.
Completely changing parts of the map as time goes on, adding bosses, different POI, rotating timed missions. Even adding missions that are related to upcoming Cmapaign DLC.
Adding more secrets and Easter eggs for players to find and adding more weapons and vehicles across the map!
There’s an absolute ton they can do and I really hope they don’t leave it too long until something changes.
Secret dungeons with different levels of difficulty that reward us with limited gear to wear in Multiplayer.
adding more secrets or easter eggs is doing notting.
you only buy 1 or 2 extra month’s with it before there have fond then all again.
you remember how fast there found out all the easter egg’s and secrets all in the campaign in less then 2 month’s.
so adding more secrets and easter egg’s is doing notting at all for the long term.
same with the weapons is also for the short term and not for the long term.
what there need to do is add a boss raid system more in the campaign mode that after you compleet all the 14 missions the boss raid system is going to be active.
and there are all from the boss’s you have defeat all only there are stronger with more damage, hp and defence, and add some bezerk type in then also if there are in the red with there hp like the hunters do.
No, it is empty.
The worst $60 I have ever spent on a Halo game. They pulled a Bungie, on how Bungie designs their empty destinations. Thinking will place something here and 50 miles away place something there and call it good ![]()
The open would has no life, it’s boring as hell and 343 should haven’t ever attempted to do this without actually working with a studio that knows what giving an open world life means.
Infinite represents pretty much the worst of open world game design. I don’t know how anyone can love this campaign. Its just so lifeless and ‘safe’. I bloody hate halo 5, but I’d say even it has a better campaign.
- The environments are repetitive. All factions seem to like the colour grey. Banished overlike the colour red.
- The banished feel excessively passive because they just sit around waiting for chief to kill them. High Value Targets don’t do anything but chill at their campsites. Making Zeta Halo feel more like a campground than an entrenched enemy position trying to excavate knowledge.
- Escharum seems like an idiot. Wants to have glorius fight with chief. Instead of having glorius fight with chief, he sits in his castle and sends minions out to go fight him. This means he’s either a coward (which the game doesnt seem to want us to think, given how chief treats him at the end), or grossly incompetent as he is sending forces out to die so that he can fight chief. Chief and Pilot man do virtually nothing to hide, its not like he’d be hard to track down.
- We’re told repeatedly how mysterious the Endless/The Ring are, but both feel grossly generic. There’s not enough to hint are more complextiy in either thing.
- The game doesn’t support vehicles well, and seems overly reliant on the grappling hook it ensures you have at all times. Being open world, this should have been the game where vehicles shined.
- The game makes it too easily to have most the sandbox at your finger tips at any one time. This freedom sounds cool at first, but human nature quickly has you relying on whatever strat you prefer most. There’s no real moments that let parts of the sandbox shine. Just hours of doing the same thing with the same tools.
- The marine AI is very barebones and feel less like people than when they were scripted. The banished also like keeping them in the woods rather than secure facilities for some reason.
- Lack of multi-faction combat. Something 343 games have been generally lacking compared to the Bungie era. There’s like 2 sentinel sections, but they also align with the banished for some reason. So do the Endless. Game hints at them splitting eventually, but it should have actually happened.
Variety is the strength of the open world. A good open world is like a buffet, where you can try different things. Its not just about ‘collecting things’, and definitely not about fighting the same enemies in a green forest or a grey metal interior.
Whats odd is that I really enjoyed the first 2 levels of this game. Like, I wouldn’t call them my favorite levels in halo, but they definitely felt really good and had me hyped. Honestly I’d say the game is solid up until you meet the Harbinger (coincidentally, the point where youtubers were told to stop giving info). Past that point you experience nothing ‘new’ in the game and the game just goes through the motions until its over.
I honestly believe its better than spamming collectibles everywhere and sidequest every direction. Besides, even if they did do that, its too small for it all.
I hope they do not make it a online world Halo has both a PVP mode and a campaign mode that you can play solo if you want not too many companies make games that you can play solo at least not that I find I mean there are things like Dark Souls but those games are too difficult for me and I have tried felt like I was going to have a freaking aneurysm and just said forget it but Halo has a mode that I can play solo without getting frustrated so I hope they do not turn it into an online game only
I want gear, cosmetics, weapon skins, vehicle skins, visor colors, new abilities, classic weapons, new weapons, old vehicles, new vehicles, more skulls, terminals, more audio logs and as far as the weapon skins vehicle skins gear cosmetics visor colors and abilities and skulls are concerned I want that to be available in the campaign
OP
It’s no secret that the map we got was the bare minimum they could get out the door and everything was cut down. Anything from a third to a tenth of what they planned. Joe has even said it was a struggle.
I honestly don’t think there was time for anything more involved than the plushies and that’s why you get fairly unused parts of the map.
Given how much of an issue it’s been for them. I am now fairly sure the next game won’t be open world. They had so many issues that had knock on effects that I am expecting the next game to be your typical cinematic 6 hour game.
It was such an amatuer approach to an open world. There was no love put into it, it has no soul in it. They just checked off some boxes of what makes an open world without understanding what makes fans of open worlds spend hours getting immersed within such games. All they did was create a plane and then spammed it with the same plants, rocks, and hexagonal pillars, and then speckled some enemies here and there, a few bases, and finally some collectibles.
Congrats, 343, these are the makings of a generic open world experience. This is like being served vanilla ice cream from a shop that seems to only dish out vanilla all day and nothing else while their competitors are serving far more varied and interesting flavors, and with better ingredients to boot.
So why should I stick with you guys when other people are doing the same thing but better?
