Is 343 going to eventually give the haunted helmet to everyone? Maybe after H4 or H5 comes out? If so I don’t know if I want to go for inheritor any more, there’s just no point to earning it now.

Is 343 going to keep the haunted helmet as something you earn unless they also have a server shift which would either force it or disable it…
I’d like to know; the journey to inheritor is currently my only reason to touch reach, besides the occasional lan party. And if that journey would become moot as the road to recon has become I’d like to know in advance, save myself some time you know?

Just read that in another thread, was not aware of that, but it wouldn’t surprise me. That has more to do with Bungie being DONE with Halo, and if they didn’t give it away, Recon would be impossible to unlock.
since everyone has started Cr “boosting/farming/whatever you want to call it” using Custom Challenges on ONI Sword Base I think it’s lost a lot of desirability for me now anyhow.
I will still play on to get Inheritor, but I have a long way to go (just hit Hero last week).
The Haunted Helmet was a very rare sight up until about 2 weeks ago; now I’m meeting someone wearing it every night! Haunted = new Hayabusa in H3 when the IWHBYD Skull was found

I’m pretty sure myself and everyone else who unlocked recon would prefer if it wasn’t possible any more over it being given to everyone. All of our work is going to be for nothing in a few days, anyone who really wanted/deserved recon would have already earned it in the half-decade time span they’ve been given.

Bungie hand over all Halo stats to 343i on the 31st. It’s just a natural progression as the in game features Bungie offered (Road to Recon / Nameplates) are no longer supported

Agree with that part, but I have Recon and could care less if they give it away on H3. No one plays that game anymore…
Recon is something that you had to unlock through Bungie.net if I’m not mistaken. The difference between that and the Haunted Helmet are that the HH can be unlocked within the game, even offline. So I’d say it’s not likely to be given away ever.

All helmets & attachments, you don’t need the Waypoint helmets or the bonus helmets.
Besides, by the time you hit Inheritor, you will have enough credits to buy everything from the armoury with 10 million cR left over, so don’t worry about lacking cR.
I would hope that they would give away Haunted for free, as there is no way I am going to get to inheritor. However, realistically speaking, I doubt they will give Haunted away for free to everyone.

It IS free for everyone. Reaching Inheritor is, quite literally, a matter of time and with custom challenges and the new credit caps takes MUCH less time than ever before.

I meant free as in it requires no work or effort to obtain. I guess I could have worded that better.

Bungie also gave away Blue Flames bungie Name plate. handing the Haunted helmet over to people who have not properly earned it is a big screw you to the people who have already obtained it. Anyone can earn it and beggars can’t be choosers.

So wait this is probably off topic but they are removing the nameplates. So if you have a name plate you can’t change it or is 343i going to create there own?
If you have a custom nameplate, you will be stuck wearing whatever nameplate you have on now. So, if you think you might wanna change it, do it before the 31st.
