Any news on a release date yet??
No and I don’t think it will happen.
Unfortunately most likely a distant memory of a release that never came to be OP…
I don’t think they are ever going to release them.
I don’t think they are being released. But maybe we will see them make an appearance in Infinite? I don’t see why not. They were a great idea though.
I still want them. Would be a nice sendoff for H5.
It would be nice if they released them, but I doubt it will ever happen
Most likely they have gone the route of the “GRD” helmet. We were teased them but will most likely never be released. I heard it was a shooting that took place days prior to their release that 343i changed their mind.
ske7ch put up this announcement regarding the skins a long time ago. This was put up 2 days after the Florida school shooting.
“delay the release indefinitely”… A nice way to say we aren’t ever releasing them.

Wow, I never knew that was the reason. Considering that the experts have been saying for decades now that this type of reaction is exactly what fuels the cycle, I find that decision to be highly inappropriate.

It’s merely speculation whether or not the tragedy was a major factor in the flag skins being shelved, but we’ll never know the real answer since 343 didn’t release an official reason.

“we feel that releasing these items now would be inappropriate.”
“in light of the seriousness of the current climate […] we have decided to delay the release indefinitely.”
I’m not sure how that can be considered speculation, it seems like a straight-forward confirmation that it’s the reason.
I’m a dad, with a high schooler, & kid in the last year of elementary, & a toddler. As a parent, I don’t even see what one has to do with the other. Or why it always seems that some demented sicko, scares companies that have nothing to do with what said sicko did, into actions that are questionable to their customers. It’s not a political debate OR statement to release a product that was promised. & IF 343i wants to make a statement or take a stand. -Yoinking!- DO IT FOR REAL. Lobby for better gun laws. Finance rallies, donate to victims or foundations but don’t undermine yourself as a company with false sentiments & useless gestures that do NOTHING for the actual victims of those horrible events.
As a thought. these packs could have been sold & all proceeds could have gone to a foundations for the families & survivors.
I would love to see the flag skins released. I’ve been playing Halo for a long time, my son and I have played (with some lag) while he was deployed on the USS Ramage, DDG61, off the coast of Syria. I fail to make the connection between the tragic school shooting and a simple video game add-on release. It pains me that politics may have infiltrated the game. I would find it very interesting to see a teammate or opponent sporting the flag from a nation other than mine. We play all the time with players the world over and it would be way cool to be taking the fortress side by side with someone sporting skins from Russia, China, or anywhere else for that matter.
I wish they would release them, they were cool.i
If i remember correctly, a mod (Snickerdoodle if my memory serves me) said on another forum like this that “That they aren’t coming anytime soon”. I might be wrong though. Anytime soon doesn’t exactly mean never, perhaps we may get them in 2019?

And you see no way that someone from the outside looking in can take the image of the American Flag on a gun and use it to paint 343i in a negative light, regardless of 343i’s intentions for the flags, especially at that particular time? Come on, man. Pulling the flags wasn’t about making a statement, it was about (no pun intended) dodging a bullet. I don’t know of many companies, if they had something that could be spun to look like insensitivity toward a recent tragedy, that would willingly and knowingly do something that would hurt their reputation in the public eye.

As I see it, it’s those who spin things like that who are seeking attention in all the wrong ways.

I’ve never heard of the ‘GRD’ helmet until now, what actually is that and when was it announced?
