I joined Halo Way-Point just to look up this topic.
I’ve played Halo almost consistently since Combat Evolved. Don’t quite remember when it was that I discovered SWAT but since then it’s pretty much all I play in Halo.
Echoing many of the comments here, I really doubt I’ll stick around past the campaign if SWAT isn’t available as its own ranked playlist. Also, what reason is there not to have it?
I hope this pushes 343 in some way towards making it available.
we need more playlists and specific modes like slayer, and FFA
I agree 100%, and would add that ALL the classic Halo playlists should be in the game (e.g. doubles, snipers, infection, grifball, etc).
It is an awful, arrogant, idiotic, irredeemably stupid decision to limit and gate playlists that have been in Halo for up to 17 years (in the case of SWAT) to limited timed events.

I’m honestly surprised FFA and Swat weren’t there at launch since they are just simple variants of slayer.
Why are they working on them? They are literally all slayer variants that should have been done like 10 minutes after the first slayer playlist was set up.
Unyshek’s post said by the end of the year, and as they are playlists there is a little bit more work than just the gamemode. Maps need to decided or created and the menu needs to modified.
And all of this should have been done already. The fact they didn’t is mind-boggling.
I agree, but we can only do so much as the community.
I cannot understand how 343 can release Halo Infinite with only 4 Arena Gametypes and only one ranked and soial playlist after H5’s release. This decision comes from the same guy who thinks the Warthog in 2550+ will have a gasoline engine. That’s unbelievable, really… First Halo since H3 I really like and population will drop fast because of no content…

I am.one of the people that really enjoys swat and plays it quite frequently. We just need playlists and game modes in infinite done in a proper way. I would love a MCC type multiplayer game finder

No. The conversation should have started a year ago about this stuff. What were the tech previews for? What were all of the content delays for?

The Disappointing part is that Tactical Slayer is already in the game, it’s just hidden. You have to launch Infinite in Offline Mode and then Tactical slayer will appear in the list of game modes available for custom games.
What I heard was that there’s gonna be Swat & a Swat CTF game modes, now how true this is I don’t know but the CTF one sounds like a joke to me and I wouldn’t want to play it if my life depended on it.
Although a nice idea. I don’t think I can handle any more space magic!
Of course it will have CTF - it’ll be apart of the same playlist with the four game types that we get with the events, BTB, quick play and ranked.
All they need to do is tweak the weapons etc.
Little work maximum profit.
It’s why we can’t have a slayer play list cause it will break the model for the challenges and shop.
I really don’t like the idea of Swat+Objective games, I like my Swat to be Swat by itself like it always has.

But they can’t bring it back with just slayer during season one without changing the whole battle pass and challenge rewards.
Maybe in season 2 they’ll change it but I’m not really hopeful.
Edit - swat slayer will be one of the four game types though. If it’s a consolation.
