Regarding Perks

343, they were cool for a while but completely unneeded, the added nothing but unbalance to the game. I hated having to select a perk that would give this this advantage as I believe it restricted your play style into a more class based system. It was far better where no one had to worry about these pointless add ons.
Opinions? Agree/Disagree?

Agreed. I have to use resupply and explosions…before my spartan just did this. Now he’s dumb and has to learn how to pick grenades up? Wth happened? Oh yeah Spartan IV’s happened…

Lol, they skipped spartan school.

But yeah no more perks.

Perks were the worst, especially survivor, I hated not getting any kills for destroying vehicles because almost everyone used that perk in big team and heavies.

Yup. They should really ditch them.

Perks were hands down the worst addition to Halo 4, and that’s saying a lot. They were unconscionable additions. They’re great for other games, but not Halo. and why they added two of them is beyond me…

Perks are the worst new addition in Halo 4’s multiplayer. They removed really powerful ones from players who haven’t reached a certain level or completed a specialization (like Stability), or they removed what should be a base ability from everyone who wasn’t using the perk (the one where you can pick grenades off the floor), and sometimes they were just plainly a bad idea and completely unbalanced (like the one that ejects you out of destroyed vehicles and the one that gives you an extra grenade). The rest were just completely pointless, as they offered really small stat boosts that you would never notice.

I think the reasons perks work in other FPS games is because other FPS games have much, much shorter kill-times (without the shields) and that means that you can make the perks more meaningful without having too huge an effect on the gameplay. Does it really matter if it takes you a second to kill someone or 0/75 of a second in a game like CoD? Nope. In Halo it just doesn’t work. Significant boosts can completely unbalance a fight, and tip to one or the other’s advantage- which just isn’t Halo (Halo is about fairness and skill- everyone who enters a fight should have a chance to win).

Considering SPARTAN-IVs used to be marines, it does kind of make sense. Halo marines are stupid by nature. Still, if I ever see perks again, I quit.
