Regarding Frank's Recent Interview

This is what stood out to me the most:

“From a very high level, it’s just a good way to continue to sustain the game in the first half of its lifespan.”

It might be an accident with how he said it, but he did say at “Half it’s life span”.

Which makes me wonder if they have something planned in between Halo 4/5. Or if Halo 5 comes sooner than we think?

Halo 5 comes out in a little more than year, doesn’t it?

I’m wondering this too.

So they certainly know there is a while until the next Halo, and while technically it is the most recent game, Spartan Assault isn’t exactly a bridger, especially since its not on console.

They must have some ideas. Its basically confirmed there will be more tournaments, but surely they must know they’ll need more than that to keep interest as all the next gen stuff arrives. Champion’s style DLC? Spartan Ops? Gametypes and customization upgrades like Ricochet?

> Halo 5 comes out in a little more than year, doesn’t it?

It comes out in fall 2014.

So yes, Halo 4 is halfway through it’s lifespan.

The timeline seems based on the normal arch of between game time spans, what intrigues me is that 343 has taken the competitive Halo reins and appears to be steering it they way they want, not what direction a 3rd party would like it to go.

To that I say, bravo.

Like, sarcastically?

I came into this thread thinking this was going to be a rant on how he said that they want to make it more accessible. I was going to argue that accessibility and lowering the skill gap are not the same, but it looks like I won’t have to.

Nope, like sincerely. It defies logic to allow someone else to dictate the direction of your product or whether or not it will even be featured in a tournament.
