Does anyone know how far they’re going to go with the cross core customization once they figure it out I would like to use George’s chest piece with the Gungnir helmet but I can’t do that because the Gungnir helmet is on one set of armor and George’s chest piece is on another they really screwed up the customization in Halo Infinite
Gungnir Helmet is on the Mark V Bravo Armor Core.
Stormfall is the Mark VII Armor Core rendition of the same design. It is slightly different in design and they are likely to give us all the Reach Helmets plus some new ones for the Mark V Bravo armor core.
As for if and when they do cross core, I imagine it will be like this :
- Armor Coatings
- Helmets
- Helmet Attachments
- Visor Colors
- Shoulders
- Gloves
- Knee Guards
Chests, Wrists, and Utilities are likely not going to be cross core.
And I doubt that they will do cross-core outside of the main canon armors, since the Fractures armor cores are supposed to be alternate universe armors.
Probably the ones they can Cross Core with, such as Attachments, coatings, visors, Chestplates, not sure about the other attachments but we’ll see what happens
You… cannot go crosscore with the majority of these… they are armor pieces that are contoured to the geometric shape of the armor plating.
Sure, some can be cross core; such as ones that are straps that can be adjusted to new mounting points, but others not so much.
hopefully everything will be cross core… but i doubt they’l do it for gloves, helmets, and certain chests
I disagree. Gloves and helmets are perfect. They have done helmets before with Halo 5 Guardians having 10 Gen-I helmets -
- Mark IV
- Mark V Delta
- CQC
- EOD
- EVA
- Military Police
- Pilot
- Operator
- Recon
- Security
I can reasonably see them making all main-canon helmets cross-generational/cross-core.
And gloves are the easiest since they are literally just hands that are uniform in shape but with slightly different texturing, mapping, and armor plating that doesn’t clip or clash with geometry.
Though the Fractures armor stuff will most likely stay out of cross-core, since they technically are technologies from other universes and thus “would be incompatible” being the reason why 343 would opt out on that.
I would absolutely LOVE to wear my Mk. V JFO/UA helmet on my Mk. VII armor set.
Most of the pouches are compatible if the cross core glitch is anything to go off of.
Between the MKV and MKVII a lot more chest pieces are very similar due to to base armor design similarities.
Yoroi is basically incompatible with both other sets.
True.
Another reason why Fracture and Main Canon armor cores will not be cross core… beyond gloves
Cross-core. More like default Mark VII body with cross-helmet and cross-coating. No interchangable body armors. No Fracture armors. Dumb. You can flip a switch with debug tools and cross anything shown by bots and modders, but 343 has to “look into it”, probably to sell a cross-core core. They don’t want to let us mix Fracture armors, because they want to avoid letting us make cool free armor combos. Only paid Battle Pass canon armors, and not all cosmetics, only the ones they allow to cross-core, which probably translates to paid items.
Or maybe they just don’t want lore junkies to target players that make terrible combos of armor? Its happened before to those who ironically wore the Seeker helmet in Halo 5.
Or perhaps it can cause bugs?
Or perhaps they will add it in an update to satiate our cravings in order to keep players buying armor stuff. After all, if the shop system remains having a weekly re-shuffle and they keep on adding armor cores; we will have people who want to play with a certain armor not getting anything new for a month or so at the minimum and perhaps even a year with no new content because other cores will take the spotlight?
At the very least, I would like to be able to use visors across all armor cores. I will only use the Mark V EVA helmet (and the future possible variants?), that’s the one I always used across all games.
It was the 100% wrong design decision to core-lock armor pieces- I think that’s abundantly clear to 343i now, at least.
They’ve said they’re prioritizing canon armor pieces (non Fracture), especially Helmets and Visors, but that they’ll realistically only be able to make a little bit of progress at a time in unlocking cross-core. Since you’re going for the Grenadier chest from the Mk V [B] armor core, I think there’s a high probability that the Gungnir helmet becomes a cross-compatible helmet that you’ll be able to apply to the Mk V core at some point. It’ll just depend on what order 343 tackles the assets…
aye, good points… fractures being their own sets. whiles returning cores (like mk 5b) would be cross core given that said armor has been cross core in the past… like the MK5 helmet being ‘ported’ to the at the time current gen armor of h3, and then h4 and h5. so i don’t see why the other main universe (feels weird saying that) couldn’t also be cross core on the same main gen core armors
Technically there is already a cross core item in the game. With the ODST helmet from H3 being on the MkV[B] core. ![]()
Let’s look at what they said, shall we?
We agree that there is room to have better customization by lifting core restrictions where possible.
So, I take this as they will look at whether it is possible for something to be crosscore.
Like others have said, a lot of the chest pieces won’t work because there would be insane clipping, although, some of them would work.
For right now, we’re pursuing options that will allow players to use certain customization items on different cores.
From this, it tells me that we are going to be getting crosscore slowly, over time. With the first crosscore items being visors/coatings (as said later)
Due to the way the core system was initially built, getting items to work on various cores will take time, may not even be possible for all items, and will likely require us to do it piece-by-piece.
So this explains even more why some pieces won’t be crosscore, but some will.
our initial focus is on enabling as many helmets, visors, and armor coatings across different cores as possible.
So here we have helmets, visors, and armor coatings across different cores as possible.
In short, our goal is that we will be incrementally moving to a model that has coatings and visors working across all cores;
So visors/coatings will be crosscore first
with helmets and chest gear working across canon cores as our first focused changes to make in the system.
And then it seems we will be getting helmets/chest attachments next (as many that will work)
I do not know if this is the right place to ask, but is the Helljumper armor in Halo Infinite? Would it be possible to add it into the game?
