First, let me start by saying that I suppose I never get on this site as much as I think I do, cause I have never seen anyone complain about the DMR being OP. If someone can complain about something, they will.
Allow me to give me opinion: I agree, the DMR maybe needs some kind of nerf, maybe more bloom, maybe a slower ROF, or other precision weapons need a buff.
But I think everyone is overlooking the fact that if the DMR is OP, the Rouge specialization definitely adds to it.
EX: I saw someone talking about the BR being able to throw off the aim of a scoped in DMR user. Now, this is true. When it comes to being scoped in (I have experienced this myself), the Carbine and BR throw your aim to complete crap, unless you have the Rouge, which takes all of that out of consideration. If there is ANYTHING that needs a nerf, I think it needs to be Rouge.
They should bring back de-scoping, and make Rouge keep you scoped in, but still get recoiled when shot, not make your aim perfect despite being hit with a BR.
Well that would require more effort than say just add a RoF nerf to the DMR.I think your missing why people want the DMR nerfed.Its not because of flinch and stuff, or even that its better than the BR.Its the fact that one person with a DMR can lock down any part of a map by themselves with little effort.It hurts map movement to the point where nobody wants to for example get the flag and bring it back since they can kill you no matter how far away you are.
I have seen many people on the forums and in-game complaining about the DMR.Its not a localized view.Most people that claim its not a problem are the ones that favor using it, so of course they would not want it nerfed in any way,shape, or form.
Anyways, considering that it has more complaints than the boltshot and does in fact hinder map movement, i’m certain it will be toned down to where it will not be such a large issue.I have seen many posts on the forums with people defending the DMR, but they never give hard facts as to how it is not overpower aside from “its like the BR from Halo 3”.You need to understand that the BR could not lock down any part of the map with pinpoint accuracy.You could try but you practically wasting ammo.
Just my very small argument regarding the DMR and reasoning as to why it should be nerfed.I stand firm believing that it needs a nerf.
