Regain what has been lost

Halo has been running for a long time now and during al those years Bungie and 343i introduced a lot of new features and other things, but a lot of things where taken out as well.

Out of all the things we have lost, what would you desperateley want back? I’m sorry if I forgot something and if I did just put it in the comments below. Thanks!

Things I couldn’t put in the poll:

  • Firefight
  • Campaign Matchmaking
  • Spacebattles
  • VISR Mode
  • Probably some more…

I just want to see the tag team of Master Chief and Arbiter one more time.

Armor lock…yeah, no. Everything else though, sure.

[/li]- I prefer the Covenant speaking their own languages, it makes them seem more cultural and alive.

  • Armor Lock should STAY DEAD!!!

  • If Dual-Wielding does not return, then I will CRY

  • The Flood and the Arbiter would likely have an appearance in some way or another

  • The absence of a UNSC Air Vehicle is absurd, but I’d prefer something new over the Falcon or Hornet

  • Screw the Scarab, HARVESTERS FOREVER!!!

  • I could honestly see no area within the plot where the Brutes would make an appearance in Halo 5

  • Playable Elites MUST return, I would also like to be a Knight or a Brute. (This would work quite well with Invasion, but no so much with normal Multiplayer)

If I’m choosing from the list, it’s gotta be Hornet/Falcon, or just UNSC flying vehicles in general. They were great for Machinima.

I don’t like dual wielding, it makes the weapon wielded alone less useful

Flood could return, I’m up for that

Don’t bring Arbiter back, his story is done, now the IsoDidact…

Hornet/Falcon, yes if they have a 16 vs 16 playlist (IF) they could add the Pelican

Armour Lock, I don’t know the patched version is ok

Scarabs, maybe

English Talking Aliens, why not?

Brutes, No.

Aliens in Multiplayer, YES! I love my Sangheili

My own would be make the story much more complex

The Flood are definitely still a huge threat, they definitely need to return, and I would love to see them in super gorgeous graphics!

  • Dual Wielding: I wouldn’t mind seeing this improved upon, but it’s unlikely. It wasn’t that great of a system that I miss it.
  • The Flood: The Flood is still a dormant threat, yes. I wouldn’t mind small appearances, but none of this “The later half of the game is all Flood encounters.”
  • The Arbiter: Yes. I would be surprised if he’s not in Halo 5. Unless Travvisty kills him off…
  • The Hornet/Falcon: In 2557, I would imagine that the UNSC has built something better than these to use in combat situations. I would prefer that. I agree that we need a UNSC aircraft (I did liked the Pelican, and would like to see it return more.)
  • Armor Lock: Uncertain. It definitely had it’s campaign applications, but I feel it’s a system that could be built upon.
  • The Scarab: Possibly, yes. I imagine the Storm Covenant would have commandeered some Assault Scarabs, but I do not want a tease of it like Halo Reach was. The Harvester, as was mentioned, is non-combative, and seems to fill the role of the Scarab Mining Platform.
  • English talking aliens: I would like for them to remain speaking Sangheili (or Jiralhanae for the Brutes,) but perhaps the HUD addition of subtitles would work. Not game subtitles, but the MJOLNIR HUD systems displaying translations of what they are saying with direct interaction. Not in combat, as who really cares what they’re saying, but perhaps if you’re speaking to Thel or his Sangheili, you could have the conversation translated via text. Or even have allies “speak English” (audio translation software of the MJOLNIR) and enemies speaking native languages.
  • The Brutes, Brute weaponry and vehicle: This depends. I would like to see the Brutes, but in a canonically accurate strength.
  • Aliens in Multiplayer: I could give or take this, honestly. It was fun in Reach with Invasion, but it seems unnecessary to me still. Unless it can be really uniquely implemented.
  • Firefight: Yes. I do miss Firefight.
  • Campaign Matchmaking: Yes as well.
  • Spacebattles: All of my yes. I’ve missed this since Reach, and was somewhat thrown off that the Broadsword did not have a roll function like the Sabre did.
  • VISR Mode: Yes as well.

two words Armor Lock

I would like every one of those back but just keep armor lock to campaign and custom games only. I really miss armor walkers…

If I had to pick, I’d say the Hornet/Falcon. Many lulz have been had from using those vehicles!

I want duel wielding, the Arbiter and the Flood back. Also I want English speaking aliens. Why? Because what they say in English makes such a bigger effect then a mumble of words with subtitles. For example, what if when The Prophet of Truth hacked into the video screen at the beginning of Halo 3 he was talking in his own language with subtitles. It wouldn’t have as much of an emotional or theatrical effect because you’re focused on the subtitles not what he saying, if that makes sense.

id like to see halo return

There is a lot there I would like to see return. I think the top thing I want to see return is BALANCED GAMES. The infinity stuff is frustrating to say the least.

Here is my wishlist.

How do I vote everything?

The Flood. They have been in every game (except ODST and Reach as they were spinoffs).

The Arbiter can make small appearances to “wow” us but the Flood is more important in my eyes.

It is far more balanced after the update. Heck, no HALO game was perfectly balanced, as well as the game is on the pace of HALO 2/3.

My only complaint is the ranking system (CSR is a good step at least).

> How do I vote everything?

I deliberately didn’t put that option in there to see what was the number one thing people would want back. At this point it seems like Dual Wielding, The flood and a UNSC flying vehicle are the most wanted.

Keep the votes coming!

Thanks for the explanations everybody

Damn it I want them all
I voted for the Scarab though, because if the Scarab is included than the campaign is also bound to have bigger, more open maps and better vehicle scenes so it tackles to improvements.

Dual Wielding is awesome and I’ve always loved it. It was a feature that helped set Halo apart from other games and it was fantastic. The Flood is awesome from both a story and gameplay perspective and I never understood why people hated them so much- they would be probably the most welcome re-addition from your list and they would also tackle multiple improvements (but I will still keep my vote at the Scarab). The Hornet/Falcon or any other UNSC flying vehicle are necessary IMO, but I hope the pilot also gets a weapon because being a gunner on the Falcon was never fun (at least with the machine gun turrets, the Grenade-launching ones could have worked). English-talking aliens were fun, but I’m actually okay with them having their own language. The Brutes and their arsenal are awesome (mainly the Chopper) and it would be a welcome return. The Arbiter is awesome and he should return at some point when the story calls for it- if not in the Reclaimer Trilogy he should at least return in a side-game. Aliens in multiplayer were awesome, be it Reach form or Halo 2/3 form, but I don’t see it happening any time soon.

The odd one out in your list is Armor Lock. Good riddance.

EDIT:
Firefight should return if Spartan Ops is truly scrapped. Campaign Matchmaking never worked well for me, but I haven’t played it enough to have a sound opinion. Space battles- YES. YES YES YES YES YES. There is no down-side in space battles. VISR was awesome in ODST but only because it was necessary. If the game is dark than yes, VISR would be awesome, but if it isn’t I would rather stick to Promethean Vision which is truly awesome.

Hahaha, I put it in there just to see if there was anybody who would want that back and it turns out there are some. I didn’t really like it much, but I didn’t hate it with as much passion as some others did. I like the hardlight shield better.
