Refund?

I’m not trying to be a troll or anything, but is there anyone else out there considering contacting microsoft and asking for a refund?
The multiplayer is unplayable. My game also freezes and crashes often. I honestly feel a little ripped off right now. I bought a digital copy, so I can’t return a disc

To those defending microsoft, let me give an example to help illustrate my point.

Lets pretend you buy a car. When you go to pick it up, the car dealership tries to give you a car with no wheels. But they tell you that you might get wheels in a week or two, or possibly in a month. Would you defend the car dealership, or would you ask for your money back to go buy a different car?

  • I am considering taking this back to GameStop. It just won’t install. My buddy and I both work difficult schedules to coordinate. It’s ruined my night. 343 is so fricken incompetent.

Why would you refund? When it’s smoothed out in a little bit here, you’re just going to buy it again… Keep it, wait for fixes, and enjoy the awesome.

Yeah if I had a disc i might be able to return it for store credit. But i bought a digital copy, so I’m not sure how that works. I’m pretty upset. Ive wasted a few hours trying to get in to matches. Couldnt even get a co-op campaign going with my buddies. Game froze and crashed several times. I wasted about 2-3 hours tonight and didn’t play anything.

No, because it’ll be fixed and I would want it when it’s fixed. I want a hundred bucks from Microsoft for lowering the price of the Xbone after saying they wouldn’t be separating the Kinect and selling it though

I didn’t get what I paid for. And who knows how long it will take to fix. I would rather use that money to buy a different game.

You paid for a license to play content. Not specific on when any said content will be available, but you bought the license to use it when it does. You’re not entitled to anything but that description when you ‘Purchase a Game’.

> Yeah microsoft doesn’t owe anybody a rip off. It would just be a nice courtesy when a company goof’s this badly, I suppose.

I understand you being upset. I am too. I really wish matchmaking was 100%. Nothign to do but wait.

Calm down kids, There will be a patch soon

I bought a digital copy, and contacted Microsoft support about a refund today. They warned me that I agreed to a non-refundable ToS, but would make an exception for this one:

> Rey: As upon Terms and Use of Xbox Marketplace, games are non refundable. But I will be glad to provide you an exception for this issue. How’s that sounds?
> Chris: I would appreciate that.
> Rey: Great! Give me two shakes of a lamb’s tail here and I will get this taken care of for us. I do need you to stay in the chat with me while I take care of this or I will lose access to the account.
> Chris: Understood.
> Rey: Hi Chris, thank you so much for waiting.
> Rey: I have submitted a refund request to your financial institution for the purchase price of the item. Your financial institution will receive the request from Microsoft with the next 72 hours, but the time it takes to reflect on your reflect on your credit card statement will depend on your financial institution.

Maybe I’ll revisit MCC down the road one everything settles and 343 issues some much needed patches. But I’ll pass for right now.

TL;DR: Contact Microsoft chat support and ask for a refund. They’ll probably comply (you can get one refund a year apparantly).

Yeah I get that, but with so many great games out this month, I would rather buy something I can play now, rather than pay now, play later.

How much you wanna bet, Dragons Age is going to be a mess too. I already heard about the bad stuff in Sunset OD.

Whether you can get a refund will depend on where you live. For example in Australia, the government recently took Valve to court over their no refunds policy on Steam because it is actually illegal to not offer a refund for defective products, regardless of the fact that people have to agree to their no refunds rubbish when they make the purchase.
I would imagine that Microsoft would be in the same boat if they actually tried to push the no refunds policy for an obviously defective product. I’m gonna leave it for a week before I decide whether to contact them or not. I do want to keep this game, but it seems to be getting progressively worse every hour. First it was just matchmaking, then achievements stopped unlocking and now it bugs out and crashes at the end of each campaign level. The game was working better at launch, almost 48 hours ago, than it is now.

As legitimate as your point may be, it states in your purchase agreement that there is no exception to digital products. If you’re die hard to get a refund, your best and only bet is to go through your bank/PayPal/Credit Card company and file as “Misleading” or “Product not as described” or whatever.

Now I will say, you’d be missing out on a great game. Everyones first reaction (as was mine) to be extremely angry and ask ourselves, “Why the hell did I buy this trash?!”. Granted there is no excuse as to why we have an extremely buggy game, I’d say just wait it out friend.

I just called to get a refund and after being on hold for over an hour I was told refunds weren’t being given. What did you say/do to get your refund ?

I understand that the situation right now sucks. That shouldn’t have happened, but why not wait another week?
You seriously want to skip the Halo MP experience, because you weren’t able to play the first days?

Ok, I have to admit. The problems don’t affect me that much, because I can’t really play as often as I wish. F*cking Real Life! :frowning:
