This is the number to Microsoft support, and I know for a fact they will refund you on the digital purchase. I am unsure of the process for hard copies. I advise EVERYONE to start returning this game. This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to commit to this decision; and when they release they product they promised you could easily repurchase it. However, when 343 starts seeing their trusty dollar signs reversed, there will be a much higher incentive for them to fix this broken product they sold us. In 2014 this type of product behavior is completely unacceptable.

Why should people settle for an incomplete project? If 343/Microsoft truly cared they would have delayed the game. How about if you bought a car that had auto windows but they didn’t roll down and the dealership told you to come back in a few weeks and they would repair them. Would you settle for this?

^ this. People continue to use the argument of “this was a gift” or “no one has done this before”. I don’t care if no one has done this before, but you know what game devs have done before is tested their game. which 343 did not do as many of us can see.

I’m going to return the game (I downloaded it) and most likely purchase it again when it’s working correctly. This is probably the best solution to the problem here. Meanwhile, everyone who doesn’t return it will be sitting on a $60 menu interface with pretty music.
Maybe I’ll luck out and the price will drop because so many people are returning it because they’ve realized how terribly broken this game is.
My main concern at this point is how big will the community even be once the game is fixed? I love halo and will continue to play MCC but I’m not a fan of sprint and all the other crap they’re adding to Halo 5:Guardians so I was not sure if I was going to purchase halo 5 to begin with and unless something changes these issues with MCC and 343i being incompetent has basically put the nail in the coffin for me.

That’s the truth there. If they don’t fix this soon, Halo will be dead, which makes me a sad fella.

Because they ARE fixing it. Trust me when I say this, I haven’t played the collection in 2 to 3 days, not including yesterday to test the patch, which showed some improvement. I’m not gonna go through the trouble of returning the game when I know I’m just gonna buy it again once everything’s fixed. That’s just stupidity. If you’re gonna sell a game, make it one you know you’ll NEVER play again. I just bought the new Smash Bros anyway, so that, and reading stupid posts and topics on this forum to make me laugh will pass the time for me.

The BEST solution would be to keep the game and wait. Otherwise, you just make more work for yourself. Also, easily 70% of the game works. You can do more than sit on the menu.

It’s seriously as easy as making a phone call and getting 60 bucks back. Then when the game works, I press purchase and wait for it to install.
so you either pay now and wait… or wait and pay the same? and in the meantime of waiting u could play other aspects of the game… logic.

Waiting to install. That will take a while. Then you have the countless updates to wait for.
Just to be honest, you can’t literally start strikes over a game having glitches. Maybe if you all realized that there is much more than match making to Halo you would just shush and take the product for what it is. Hell, if you want a broken product as an example, go play Destiny. At least there the entire game was scrapped and we have to pay to get the rest of it, right?
No. This game has all of its content promised, it’s just temporarily broken. Please, everyone… Just grow up already. You can’t have what you want when you want it. I know a lot of you get that, but seriously? You can’t cry wolf over something that can be fixed within a matter of days. And that’s just my opinion on the matter.
