Refilling Weapons at FOBs

Currently, it’s a hassle to get full weapons at FOBs. If you’re getting a new weapon it will only come with about half of the possible reserve ammo. You can get to full ammo by just selecting the weapon again, but then you have to scroll through the menu instead of just having it all to begin with. And if you return to an FOB with a weapon, there aren’t even normal ammo stations, much less ones with infinite ammo. Since at the end of the day FOBs can produce unlimited amounts of ammo, new weapons should already come with full reserve ammo, and there should be a station to refill all weapons completely. Thanks for considering!

Yes, I would certainly like the ammo crates to be available (e.g. kinetic refill), and newly requested weapons should definitely come with full ammo.

A nice Quality of Life improvement :+1:

Yeah it’s not urgent and like I said there’s ways around it but just having like one full ammo crate would be nice. Maybe it could even have grenades too so you could always go into a battle fully stocked?

Actually that would save time if they made an ALL crate at every FOB. You can manually select your weapons again and again, sure, but I’d rather not scroll and just refill my current favorite two weapons.

Another quality of life would be a grid menu for weapon selection rather than a linear selection. Would reduce much time selecting weapons especially when arming a squad. But only a minor thing really.

Yeah, an area to just refill your current weapons and grenades would be a big time-saver.

Categories might be nice too.

Maybe it could look sort of like this:
← UNSC <-> Banished <-> Forerunner →
When you choose one:

Also, it might be nice to have a menu to select what weapons your squad equips by default.

In addition, the “kinetic ammo” refills etc. were really quite lame. Immersion breaking for me, feels a lot like a game. One of my favorite things in Halo has always been finding a spot where some Marines took a stand, and pillaging magazines from the ground. Was really disappointed to see that visual storytelling removed from Infinite. I think that rather than balance the world by spreading ammo out, they decided that to limit ammo in an open world they would just limit your ammo reserve.

The first three games had overshields and active camo in the campaign that really weren’t immersive.

True! Fair point. I think in general I just really loved the environmental storytelling entailed in ammo drops. Remember in CE when you get out of the security center on silent cartographer and a pelican has crashed on the beach and you scrounge ammo from it? I just loved that. I was actually even disappointed when they switched over later in the series just having weapons with ammo, and not the little ammo packs on the ground from halo CE/2

I’d like a more immersive way to refill ammo out in the world of Infinite, but to me, the ammo refills in Infinite aren’t very immersion-breaking, and without the refills at FOBs, Legendary would be even more difficult, so I wouldn’t want those gone.

By the way:
I don’t quite understand why there are 4 of those Weapon Slot Machines.
Is this already a hint towards 4-player Co-op?

Are you talking about those stations that summon weapons at FOBs?
If so, I’d say it is.

Glad to know I wasn’t the only one thinking this. It’s a tiresome chore to scroll through the weapons list one-by-one when outfitting your marines or even just refilling your own ammunition.

Give us a Netflix-esque tile grid, showing all weapons at once; maybe UNSC on the left, Banished on the right side and variants immediately underneath.

IDK, it would be a quick and easy fix and an incredible QOL solution to implement for both both PC mouse and console controller users (or any combination in between).

There could be a quantity counter under each one allowing you to select the amount you want to spawn up to 4. I’d imagine the most sought after weapons are dead in the middle of this line list; I generally like having 2 snipers and 2 SPNKrs and it takes about a minute to get both the weapon up, for each one.

Ultimately, the crates could be replaced with good old weapon racks. Can’t imagine the crates there to hide loading times on slower systems.
