Refill Packs

Some of you guys may have heard of or thought of something similar, but here is an idea for a potential “fix” to the insane ammount of REQs in Halo 5:
REQ REFILL PACKS!

Put simply, these packs are there EXCLUSIVELY for the Warzone and Firefight fans. They’d be cheap REQ packs that give exclusively certified REQs.
Fore example: Say you have a certification for Wasps, but you seem to almost never get them (a common complaint). Instead of spending 5000 RP on a silver pack in hopes of getting one or two Wasps in it, one could spend say 2000 RP and get 14 REQs all of which are previously certified and therefore more likely to be a Wasp. You still deal with RNG, but at least its a less grindy RNG with odds a bit more in your favor.
For balance these REQs would not unlock permanent items or certification, nor would any uncertified REQs be unlocked.

What do guys think?

It might be nice for anyone who doesn’t have their REQ collection completed, but for anyone that does have it completed (like me), it seems kinda redundant.

If this implies that I can refill stocks of specific REQ items at my own pace, I’m in!

I’m getting dangerously low on my Railguns, Chaingun Turrets, Wasps, and Ravening Slivers.

I want this. I can spend 200,000 REQ points on Gold Packs and not get a single Wasp; it’s a problem that needs fixing.

I find it odd that I get so many more banshee ultras than wasps. Even more phaetons, and both destroy them utterly.

I second Emperor Nova’s question. If the idea is that Refill REQs only grant REQs that you have the certification for, what about people who have every certification?

Then it would play similar to buying a regular gold or silver pack. Once all perm REQs are unlocked, the regular packs simply refund some RP back to the buyer. The idea is to emulate this for people who haven’t spent 500+ hours unlocking everything. Warzone isn’t as fun when you have to constantly worry about running out of stock of your favorite REQs, so why not give them a way to get more?

> inb4 people complain it’s pay to win

As I said for another thread similar to this.

Its not a bad idea but lets be honest, everybody wants more wasps and no one wants to be on the receiving end of being slaughtered by them. aswell as the people who take the game waaay to seriously (smurfs) I’m sure they would try to get only a few certs (including OP things like the wasp) and then just having an unlimited stock seeing as you generally make more than 2k points a game.

Meh I’d rather have a menu like Reach’s armor system, say a Hannibal Wasp is 1k RP, ONI is 750, and standard is 500.

Or maybe packs. It would go like this in my mind:

>Main Menu
>Buy Packs
>Resupply or New Pack [in which case you would select Resupply]

And there would be multiple options for packs, such as-

Heavy Armor Pack: For 7500 REQ points, resupply on heavy armor [Tanks and Wraiths of all kind]. Total of 15 cards.
LAV pack: Warthogs [scout and standard], Ghosts, and Gun/Mongooses for 5000 RP. 15 cards total.
Air Support Pack: Banshees, Wasps, and Phaetons for 7500 RP. Total of 10 cards
Hog Pack: For 5000 RP, get 30 Warthogs of every variety [excluding Scout and all Chaingun Hogs except Needle and ONI]
Freckles Pack: Looks more like a Freckles than a Mantis. 5000 RP will get you 10 Manti

Heavy Firepower Pack: For 7500 RP, get a total of 15 heavy weapons [Lasers, FRGs, Incineration Cannons, and Rocket Launchers]
Precision Pack: For 5000 RP, get a total of 15 precision weapons [Carbines, Snipers, Binary Rifles, and both kinds of Beam Rifle]
Marine’s Choice Pack: For 2500 RP [or $1], get a resupply of 20 pure infantry weapons [SAWs, Railguns, Shotguns, Magnums, and Railguns]. I was also thinking the money from these packs could go to charities that help police and military families.

Cortana’s Wrath Pack: Promethean weapons. 2500 RP for 10 of the basic [carried by Soldiers or Crawlers, not including Binary or Incineration] Promethean weapons.
Brutal Pack: Brute weapons. 10 for 2500 RP.
Grenadier Pack: 5000 RP, 15 cards. Grenade Launchers and Plasma Casters.
Mythic Pack: 25,000 RP, 20 Mythic Cards. Alternative: Beat any campaign mission on LASO for an additional 30 cards
Legendary Pack: Reward for each time you beat the campaign on Legendary or 25,000 RP. Gets you 15 non-mythic Legendary cards.

Either of these two options would solve the Wasp problem… Or maybe it would cause a Wasp problem? Heh

Excellent idea. Fully support this and the idea for a cosmetics only req pack as well.

I am 50/50 on this. I’m skeptical of the whole idea as it sounds like a P2W aspect at the same time I’m all down for it. I just don’t know I’ll let my voice inside my debate about that.

You should be able to purchase any specific req card that you have the certification for. Ex: (If I have the standard wasp cert, I can purchase one wasp from the req store for 500 req. Since I don’t have the Hannibal scorpion certification, I won’t be able to purchase any from the req store until I receive the cert.). Prices of the cards vary based on the rarity, C-200req, UC-300req, R-500req, UR-750req, L-1,000req and M-1,250.

343 could even sell these cards as micro transactions. Similar to a card store, consumers could add whatever cards they want, in whatever quantity, to a virtual shopping bag and purchase them whenever they’re done selecting all of the cards they want to buy.
