Weird the last Gamestop employee I spoke to tried to sell me the wargames mappack even though I had explained I was getting the LE, he also informed me he was getting the LE and I had to explain to him that the maps came with it.
So from my experience, maybe your employee had no idea what he was talking about either.
Sounds like an invasion variation.
